Lol! You should never assume with these things, just goes to show, eh? And anyway, all their songs sound the same to me. In my opinion repeating the same word over and over and *over* again does not a good song make

Although having said that, 'Ruby' is incredibly fun to play on Guitar Hero

I'm off now guys. See you tomorrow when we'll be able to say, "It's the Brits tomorrow!"

I like that girl who had a sore throat, then I liked the female equivalent to Ben Mills (voice wise) you know the gothic type one, and then I like that Chakizi Izzi or however it is spelt.

You know, I was listening to the radio last night, and some Kate Nash song came on. I remember one part of the lyrics went, 'Going to the disco and eating cheese on toast.' I mean WTF? She actually can't win anything at the BRITS lol. So Leona actually has to win Best Female lol, for the sake of the nation. I mean the other people are like what, some woman who plays the gong, a woman who looks like MIKA and KT Tunstall who is probably the second best nominee but she's hardly had an amazing career.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN by KT Tunstall

Quote:
“THE current female music scene in the UK is so vibrant that tomorrow’s BRIT Awards are going to be extra exciting.

I’m in the running again for British Female alongside Kate Nash, 20, Bat For Lashes, 28, PJ Harvey, 38, and Leona Lewis, 22.
I keep thinking back to that brilliant, glittering night at the Brits 2006 when Jo Whiley, 43, read my name out from the podium at Earl’s Court – finally being rewarded after all those years.

It was so depressing when I was doing the rounds at local open-mic nights, little clubs and bars, travelling from Scotland to London whenever I could afford the fare.

The nights would often sound like musical therapy sessions about being dumped, feeling blue to the point of the audience getting suicidal... (can anyone hear Phoebe from Friends in their head right now?).

How things have changed. The incredible voice of 24-year-old Amy Winehouse will be forever etched in the memory of British music; the wicked energy and wit of Lily Allen, 22, the fun and carefree attitude of Kate Nash...

Then there’s the more avant-garde artists.

PJ Harvey has come out with the beautiful, spooky album White Chalk, and Bat For Lashes interprets her dreams straight into songs.

All these ladies can cover difficult emotional subjects, but they twist them, tease them, play with them, and manage to express it all with origin*ality and strength.

And have great voices...

I’m not usually a fan of the churned out TV pop/reality show singers, but you have to hand it to Leona Lewis, she’s got real star quality.

I remember punching the air with my award two year ago and shouting: “Ladies – disregard your limits.”

Thankfully it seems there are plenty of sassy Brit girls who do that on a daily basis now.”

Interview with Reverand and The Makers frontman Jon McClure.

Quote:
“...

Which songs do you turn off when they come on the radio?
I’m not into all this nu rave s***. It’s a con. I love rave music but nu rave isn’t rave music, it’s like New Order B-sides from 1985. It’s rave for people who hate raves, like Jurassic 5 is hip-hop for people who don’t like hip-hop. I don’t like Leona Lewis, as well. She’s nominated for four Brit Awards. Seriously, how can that happen? She’s devoid of talent. She’s part of this endless stream who release really bad records. She can’t play anything or write her own songs. What are you doing, love? Stop.”

Who?!

Their opinion lost all credibility when they said she was devoid of talent, fine she's not to their taste but that's a ridiculous expression to use and completely false. Plus she does write music so they got that wrong too.

“LEONA TIPPED FOR TOP GONGS
19th February 2008

X FACTOR singer Leona Lewis is bookies’ favourite to walk away with the most BRIT awards tomorrow.

The 22-year-old Bleeding Love star is at 8-11 to be the top winner at the Earls Court bash.

Comeback kings Take That are 5-6 favourites to take Best Group, ahead of Arctic Monkeys (5-4), Kaiser Chiefs (10-1), Girls Aloud (14-1) and Editors (20-1).

And 24-year-old Mika leads the odds at 2-5 to bag the Best Male gong.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “British music in 2007 was quite diverse with classic British rock, a solo female diva and a boyband all leading the way.

“With no definitive sound to 2007 it’s making quite hard for punters to pinpoint who they think might come out on top.””

Ignore him. It's just a typical example of someone who can't be bothered to find anything out about her and just make a presumption based on the fact she went through the 'talent show' route to get herself noticed properly. If he bothered to look into things a little further he'd soon see what a genuine talent she is.

If he ever heard her sing live he'd soon eat his words lol.

 Factually incorrect as well as incredibly mean.

Seriously , who listens to them , my friends laugh at another friend of theirs who they think listens to rubbish music , this band being one of them. Pure jealousy on the reverand's part , how many nominations did they get btw?

Who the hell are Reverand and the Makers? never heard of em!

But I have heard of Leona Lewis, and yes he is factually incorrect, Leona does write her own songs and she definately has a better vocal range than (I think) he does and she's prettier!
