Admin Edit: This thread is a continuation of The Leona Lewis Appreciation Thread (Merged)
I personally wouldn't mind them releasing I Will Be in the US. It's one of my personal favourites and when they played it on Z100 it seemed to get a great response. The only off-putting thing is the Avril association, but if her label are willing to look past that it would make a great single IMHO. It reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's Because of You... a great pop/rock power ballad.

There's nothing rock about Because Of You lol.

They can't have moved it up to track 3 for nothing, and surely they will have to release a ballad as a single at some point. Perhaps it'll be the third single.”

I think You may be right it does suit the US quite well, ballad wise- it would do better over there than 'better in time'. Its a really good song- just dont like the whole Avril connection which lets the song down. They could release this as long as they still release take a bow then im happy.

I will be, got a good reaction in new york, the dj picked it off the album to play as well.

I still don't think it's balanced. They never should have ended on two ballads one after the other and have the two uptempos next to each other IMO.

You don't think? It's very pop-rock to me. Pretty much everything on Breakaway is.

Natasha Bedinfield was lovely about Leona on This Morning- she basically said people have been / had been asking her who to watch out for from England and she said Leona Lewis...also didnt realise Ryan Tedder wrote her new song - love like this

Yeah I'd agree about Breakaway as a whole, I've never considered that specific song rockish but listening back now I guess it does have heavy drums and stuff.

That they've put it up the tracklisting rather than take it off suggests they're not bothered about the Avril thing. In any case, it was only released on the special edition of the album wasn't it? Most people will not even know about her recording it before, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

It's very rare to have uptempos at the end of such a mixed tempo album though - almost always end with a ballad or two. Even Oasis did that

And I'm another who really likes the new listing - the Yesterday-Whatever It Takes-Take A Bow triumvirate is very strong towards the end.

The only thing that annoys me about it is the reaction of avril fans- leona stole it, avrils is better..blah blah blah I think leonas vocals make it classier tbh.

OMG, Forgive Me is ace! I don't think its as catchy as MG, which I loved on first listen, but having listened 5 times now, I think its yet another one that's got fantastic single potential.

The chorus also has a fab hook in it, it really gets into gear when the chorus starts at 0:40, never mind the 'Hope you will forgive me-eh oh oh' bits.

And her run at the end - starting at 3:20 in fact - I can't wait to hear her sing that live

And now it really begins...

Leona has now switched to light speed.

Forgive Me is absolutely brilliant, and very up tempo for Leona, this is a hit if ever I heard one, this is the type of song that I personally have been waiting for Leona to do, and she can do this type of song effortlessly, the vocal gymnastics have been toned down, they are still there, but not as pronounced as previous songs, good one Leona!

In just 1 year she has recorded over 20 songs, her first two recordings have hit number 1 all over the world including the U.S.A, her debut album made number 1 in the U.K and it looks as though it will do the same worldwide.

Now, knowone can tell me that this is purely down to marketing or good management, this is down to Leona herself, with the help of Simon Cowell and Clive Davis, I will concede, but never the less Leona's voice and personality have been the reason for her phenominal success, our support may also have helped.

Leona has totally established herself as an international artist, and is generating so much interst in her career, that it is difficult to remember any artist, including the Beatles, generating this kind of enthusiasm.

In the words of Oprah, Wow! Wow! WOW!

Apparently Mariah is performing "What's Going On" with Marvin Gaye on Idol Gives back. I guess they're doing the same sort of thing that Celine did with Elvis.

I Will Be would be a great performance song. Some huge vocals in that towards the end.
