I've been driving around all day and have Spirit in the car (of course) which only has the album BIT on. The more I listened to it, the more I thought it's not that bad US radio is playing that version. I would prefer the other but I think this one will be fine too.

a little OT, but a friend and Leona fan asked me if christina aguilera is considered a diva--like whitney, mariah, celine, etc.--b/c Leona is compared to them, but she (friend) doesn't think CA can touch Leona (agreeeeed ). input anyone? also, did she have a big hit?

I would say yes Christina is firmly amongst them personally. Think she has an amazing voice.

Yes she is considered to be a top vocalist. She has the range etc. Don't know how exactly that aspect compares to Leona because I can never get my head round the technicalities, but she does have similar maybe even greater range. However, I personally don't like her voice because I find it harsh'.Leona's is much sweeter and more varied to my ears and tbh I think that is more important than the technical side.

Hurt is probably her biggest hit as far as I am aware. You can also hear her singing the Star Spangled Banner on You Tube. IMO it sounds horrible and when I compare it to Whitney's version it is again the difference in the pleasantness that hits me rather than issues of range.

I think Christina does have a bigger range than what Leona has displayed so far but she doesn't use it that much really, only in a few songs.

And I agree, I find her voice really harsh at times. I hate her "yeah-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh" thing she does a lot too.
