Nope, def said opening for Leona.

Looks like she's not going to get any practice as an opener.

They're putting her in her own show, thats pretty unusual.

there is no one touring right now i can see her opening for... the only person is possibly Celine Dion.... that would be amazing but she has been touring for a while..... Celine sells boat loads of tickets...

True, you don't need an opener for an opener lol. I'll be annoyed actually if this is true as she should do some shows in the UK.

Does that very point not negate what foregoes it?

Bit lame they've not jumbled up the tracklisting or anything - but at least no tracks are missing! I hope the single versions of BIT/FITS are on there though.

Why? Clive Davis is her boss now. He's going to want her to spend as much time in the USA as possible to build her profile up.

Just look at the number of promo shows she does in the USA compared to over here.

There aren't many shows she can go on here anyway.. and she's too big to do stupid daytime shows.

If she wants to go on tour she needs to start doing gigs and it's entirely logical that she'd doing smaller venues and building up, it's how most artists start. You have to build a live reputation. I'd also rather she practiced in the States.

What a stupid thing to say.. That's the kind of attitude she has made a point of not adopting!

''I'm like way too famous for this show''

There's almost as many shows over here she could go on which are equivalent to the daytime shows she's been doing in the States.. We may have a smaller population but we all have 24 hours a day to broadcast

Why is it okay to do 'stupid' American daytime shows but not 'stupid' British daytime shows?

I'm getting a bit fed up of the way she spends 1/2 week(s) promoting a single over here. Maybe do 1 live performance and 1 mimed performance, then she beggers off to the states for months on end doing countless gigs, tv shows and promoting etc..

Simon is just capitolising on the fact that it was we the British public who voted in our millions for her to win and feels he's already secured our market with her - he knows she has a huge fan base over here already established so he just comletely ignores them..

Because a few of us have been saying she should do some small shows in the UK before this big world tour thing. It's hardly fair to just do them in the US and leave everyone else out.

Woops, just realised that looks like I'm saying it was posted yesterday in this thread. I meant it was posted yesterday (well, two days ago now) on their website so it's recent.

I don't think Clive Davis is intersted in fair. He's interested in making money and that means America.

I agree it would be nice for her to do some live smaller gigs. However, when will she fit them in? I assume that towards the end of this year she will be off to America to start work on her new album and perhaps during that period they might start working on some mini gigs in the states as well.

I wonder if they will consider her for the Superbowl half time show as well? She'd be the ideal artist. Great singer, great looking and not likely to cause a fuss like Janet Jackson did.

Of course what would be better is for her to come out and tell fans what's going on. It would be nice if she did a sit down live interview on radio where fans could text or email half decent questions in, rather than the usual nonsense from DJ's.

But it isn't Simon, it's Clive Davis she's signed to is it not?

Those long flights must take something out of her. Believe you me, sitting in an aeroplane breathing in that polluted air is NOT healthy for anyone over a long period of time.

Regarding your comment about not promoting in the UK, just what shows are there? There's no more ToTP, the BBC won't put her on any of their shows (and I STILL stand by that) and ITV have the X-Factor where she will appear and Dancing on Ice where she will appear.

The BBC has the THREE biggest shows in Jonathan Ross, Jools Holland and SCD. But you won't see her on any one them. I don't know why, just a BBC thing I guess.

If C4 bring back the Friday Night Project, she could be on that, but who knows?

Excellent spin and AI update again

She's also gaining massively across all formats - Mediabase has her +4.827m AI for the week to date

+92 Pop
+47 HAC
+41 Rhythmic
+2 AC
+1 S-Jazz; VHI; Fuse
+185 total

She was also 4th highest gainer in AI in the chart in yesterday's update

EDIT: 3rd highest today, behind TI ft. Rihanna and Pink

Still holding steady at #18 on iTunes which given the rush of new tracks this week is pretty good.

Yup, relatively to the tracks that were around last week, she's actually climbing.

Of those that are out this week, looks like T.I ft Rihanna, Christina, and Nickelback will all finish ahead on the Hot 100.

It looks like it will be neck and neck with David Cook as his airplay is tiny and sales should come in around the 100k-110k mark.

The Killers will finish lower than Leona.

Early (very rough prediction) is that Leona will finish either @ #14 or #15

I agreed with what you were saying until you used the "buggering off to America" comment.

How exactly has she been there for months on end?

She was there in March/April to promote BL and Spirit which done the job - she needed to appear on a number of shows there to get herself known.

She's been sporadically in the states since then - Just Stand Up, and then to promote BIT for a week.

The rest of the time, she's jetting between various other countries and continents, doing gigs, radio and TV performances.

If you are expecting her to give the majority of her time to the UK then you are very naive - there are many markets out there and I'm sure not just Clive Davis or whoever, but also Leona herself, wants to be a successful world-wide - and there is no way that can be achieved by spending the majority of the promotional time in the UK.

We got a month of BL and Spirit promotion, and a week of BIT promotion - what more do you want?

We'll get another week of FM promotion and probably same for Spirit: The Deluxe Edition. Other than the US, the UK has had the most promotion of any country.

Just saw that the BL video has passed 70 million views. Dunno if that's been posted already or not.

I like that pic for the Deluxe but I wanted them to use the pic that was originally planned for the US album.
