Yes, that's how I saw it. Something went wrong during that first song, and I'm not sure what - it was almost as if he couldn't hear the backing properly, or something - but that was the first below-par performance I have ever heard him give. By the look on his face, he knew it too. It was quite different from, say, Home, where he looked pleased with his performance (and rightly so) and then looked crestfallen when Simon and Louis laid into him for no good reason. Even so, despite his difficulties with TVTOY, whatever they were, there was still a lot of good stuff in that performance. I hope he can write it off to experience and take confidence from the fact that the viewers have voted him into the final and Michael Buble has championed him. Go, Leon!

Well just spent the last hour going over my recordings - result show,ITV2 stuff..only managed to watch TVTOY again.

Loved all the positive comments from Clare, G4 chap, Sandi, Michael Underwood and of course that lovely man Michael Buble - who obviously has a huge soft spot for Leon.

It's heartening to know so many other people hear what we hear.

Tonight Leon was not at his best - semi-final verves, Buble there and I'd imagine song choice and probably very little time to rehearse this week. You could just see it in his eyes that he wasn't on form - total contrast to last week and CLTCL.

Dannii is really wrapped up in Rhydian.

I really hope next week will be easier as he'll reprise a best performance - Home or YDNM, get a nice Xmas song maybe.

Tbh, I'm cool about next week..I wanted him in the Final and what will be will be...Rhydian is the 'chosen one', so be it, Leon has been noticed I am sure..it'll be atravesty if he doesn't get signed. He's too good for Simon and SMBG, but he'll not have much choice I guess.

It would show just how far he has progressed...

But I am torn between that and 'You Don't Know Me', as he just sounded superb on that one...

Wasn't it lovely to hear... some people need to ask themselves why people of the calibre of Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Sandi Thom and Michael Buble are backing Leon. They are doing so because they see that there is something special about him.

Exactly! I have heard very few mention anyone else in the final. I hope Leon has some private time this week so he can relax and reflect and think of all those superstars who have just heaped praise on him throughout this experience!

Did anyone think it odd that Rhyd introduced You'll Never Walk Alone as his choice?..I am sure it was the other way round that BOTW was his..no matter.

Clare Sweeney made an interesting comment that Rhyd had been consistent but maybe people are not surprised by him anymore. I think there are viewers who have connected with Leon on a few levels. They hear that magic dimension in his voice for one so young, his vulnerability, the fact that he battled to stay there after the 1st week mauling.

Anyway, I think this thread will be a special refuge next week as can you imagine what a certain fan group will be like out there.
