I knoew Leon was special the moment he started singing....was blown away by it!

Me too, a unique quality in that voice and I for one hope that he gets the care he deserves to build on it. Can you imagine what that voice would have been like with several years of voice training on top of the natural ability! Whew.

X FACTOR winner Leon Jackson has performed at a concert in Dubai.

The teenager from Whitburn, West Lothian, told fans he was "stunned" by the setting in the city, part of the United Arab Emirates. Leon, 19, had never sung in public before last year, but applied for The X Factor after his karaoke performances convinced friends he could be a star. The former Gap sales assistant went on to become the first Scot to win the show, and on his website he told fans the trip to Dubai had been a great experience.

"I've been in Dubai for the Sony UK conference," he said. "It was amazing – the setting was beautiful, and the stage area where I performed was set up like a jazz bar. I've also been doing some songwriting and recording in Stockholm. Amazing."

Leon won a £1 million recording contract on the ITV show. His album is expected to be released later this year.
