See you've been yaking away, nearly another 100 posts today.

Faria & Loopy...17th March is of course a very important day..It's St Patricks Day Faria - you one-eight irish So we have a national holiday...lots of people spend it in the pub, but in recent years the whole parade stuff has taken off and Dublin is very lively around Paddys weekend - huge fireworks display to music on the Liffey.

Shame ER will miss the celebrations as they dont get to Ireland until after the weekend, they're in Wembley....not the same.

Anyway..I see Ray has been rewarded for his 'role' in the XF Final with his 150k Wella contract to go with his posh watch from Slimon. He's off to LA tomorrow to record his album then Vegas for the video...I think Ray will enjoy that very much.

Noticed that Gemma girl from Hollyoaks may get a SBMG contract ....now you see that's why I dont like SBMG as a label...they're just into things for a quick buck, I really dont rate their ability to stick and develop acts especially groups...no doubt they gave that Siobhan girl who finished 3rd in the How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria her recording contract.

Froggie and Katie, thanks for the summary of Misz Mag i.e nothing too enlightening. Danny and his Fish & Chips we'll the girls on ERO will be happy with that, especailly as they now beleive his single and split from Nic.

is SBMG simon cowells? if it is he just seems to go for the novelty acts rather tha long term ones so i would rather eton road arent with simon!

Hi Loop. No SBMG is not all Simons. SBMG is a massive label (think it was 18 moths or so when Sony was added to the BMG), it's like an umbrella for lots of other labels. Simon has his own label SYCO ( I think) within it.

oh it doesnt seem the best label for long-term acts though. i think it would be better to be with a more reliable label or a smaller one.

I'm with you there. SBMG seem to drop artists if the first single or first couple of singles don't do as well as they hope (and they seem to have pretty high expectations), so no real room to build up a fanbase with them unless a large enough fanbase is already in place. I guess they don't really sign anyone who hasn't got that kind of fanbase though, but my point is they seem pretty unforgiving. A smaller label would probably give more opportunity to grow as an artist and time to build up a solid fanbase without having to worry about being dropped.

i have been listening to the audios of the performances kindly found by disnae before and i thought i would write my opinions on them lol

my girl- well it still sounds really good and anthony was definately at his best on this one. i think that david also sounds good in the bits he does in this one but the other two dont really sing much so im not sure about them. my opinion hasnt really changed on this one as i always thought it was good

TOHOM- well this one is mainly james. i think in this one his voice seems a bit different to later ones- i dont know if this was because he wasnt ill around this time. i dont know what it is though i think it sounds a bit rockier in bits-not like ben but more than the others anyway it sounds good lol they seemed to sing quite well together but not perfect and i have to laugh because at the end you can hear louis go hey

MTK- i dont think this was one of the best overall. i think david starts off really well and then up until where they all sing together it is quite good. but i noticed more on the audios that when they sing together it isnt really as good in this performance and i can kind of see what simon meant but its not awful or even as bad as he made out at all. and i dont really like ants high note at the end

DYMK-well i thought this was their best performance. i think that they sing well together more in this one and i noticed clearly were it was that James' mic cut out as you cant hear him! i read around the time others outside the thread saying that it was only good because of the backing track but i dont think it is particularly loud.

Me to You- Their harmonies are really good in this one. they sound good singing together and i love the bit with ant and david together-i think they should have shared vocals on one song. well, ants bit in the middle is a bit strange but again, i dont think it is as bad as simon was making out.

IDFLD-well this is the results show version so it sounds better than the forst version. again, i dont think it started off that bad at all. i think you can tell ant is ill in his first bit but you cannot hear james at all when they were supposed to be singing together so that probably helped to emphasise the illness. i think it sounds much better in the live gigs because it is quite low in the x factor version you cant really hear ant or james in the chorus because of the dodgy mics. i love james' high note lol and cant believe none of the judges commented on it.

ENS- they had really good harmonies in the waoo bits at the beginning. i always thought it was simons comments were odd-i guess it was in the 'get rid of eton road' plan lol but he didnt comment on how they did the song. i think ant was definately starting to recover by this week and they all did well in this song.

CYFTLT-i think some of the solo bits werent their best but when they sing together it is definately their best i think david was much better solo in MTK and james in DYMK but when they sing together it is amazing! ant sounds better on the higher nots at the end of his little solo bit than at the beginng of his little solo bit though.

overall, i have noticed that i dont know if it is the mics or just because he is a loud singer, david can be heard the most, but i think his voice is the strongest as it is more consistent than ant.

sorry about the really long post and the rambling but it was very quiet and no-one had said anything for two hours lol so i decided to share my views, especially since i missed it during the show. feel free to add your own.

Can someone please point out to me, whereabouts in their performance of DYMK does James' mic cut out? All the times I've seen it now and I still don't notice it! I must be distracted by something else, I don't know lol. Is it really that obvious?

i think it is during the second verse where the mic cuts out as it is impossible to hear James, i can just hear daivd. i probably have it wrong now lol but i think that is where it is

Wow you really put some time and effort into those reviews of the audios.

I think in weeks 1-3 you can hear that they are still not tight on their vocals.....slightly out of time, but given that Westlife and Take That had ear monitors and XF see fit not to give any groups this necessary tool when singing live I'll cut ER some slack.

Good observation re James and TOHOM...he does sound quite croaky/rocky.

DYNK was fab, and I ignore those peopel who say it's all down to the backing vocals.

IDFLD...blame the sound mand and camera guy that night.

WLFMTY, ENS, CYFTL - were all fab vocal harmony performances...this is where they show potential, the they need to work out how best to develop the solo/lead vocals. I'm guessing this will vary depending on what they sing. They can all sing well, so it's not like 2 are good singers and the other 2 just filling in behind...so to speak.

Re David, I think he probably has very good mike technique. Rememeber Soundman a poster on Internet Forum commenting on this, and in IDFLD and CYFTL I really can see how he holds the mike...sings above it and just holds the mike appropriately.

Hi Katie...after they do that clapping over their heads, they go 'take it easy' and they turn side ways and take the mike off the stand...you can n't hear James then...David is very clear though.

Hi QM Really? That's shocking... More shocking that I've never noticed it before than anything else, LOL David's voice can always be heard above the others, from what I remember. He definitely has the strongest voice IMO.

in one of the performances especially you can hear they are out of time slightly. just checked and it is TOHOM in the verses you can notice it more. i think that they were better when singing solos in the first few weeks than together but i guess thats only to be expected they hadnt been together for very long and hadnt had much practice.
i blame the sound and camera for IDFLD because it is so much better in the live gigs now from the videos-although it doesnt sound as bad as it is made out to be
if the opinions havent been discussed about performances before i look forward to reading everyone elses
and katie i wouldnt be surprised if you werent the only one distracted by the red pants i had certainly never noticed where the mic cut out until it was just the audio version
