Admin Edit: This thread is a continuation of Strictly Come Dancing...'it takes two'..chat thread..
I think Darren had won before the Muppet routine even began! There was so little time between the frestyles and the winner being announced. I can barely talk about that dance.....

Yes, it's not clear whether they wipe the slate clean for the show dances or carry the votes forward. I think the Beeb need to clarify this for this year.

Maybe it was already a lost cause and the muppets just helped it on it's way!

Darren would have been ahead on viewer votes going into the final (and thus more likely to win). Colin had the potential to attract more viewer votes and overtake Darren (and win), but I think Muppetgate turned an unlikely scenario into an impossible one.

I can't think about Muppetgate without remembering the horror of watching it live that night!

They just freeze the lines when the first couple goes out and then re-open them for the freestlye with the votes being added on to the previous! Muppetgate...it still gives me the shudders!

I know- and still I made myself vote for Colin- I feel vindicated now that people can actually see the truth bout clumpy Darren who was never that endearing! Fully vindicated!

By the judges placing Zoe first, I don`t think Colin stood a chance

I was quite shocked watching Darrens dance tonight - it left me decidedly underwhelmed - and I know I didn't feel that way last year!

I don't think Colin being top with the judges would have changed anything, but I'm NOT going to discuss that again...

Nice triple whammy for the Beeb there - she ticks all the boxes and then some:

1. She supports Emma (do you think all the guests are taken to a room for some of that subliminal suggesion before they are unleashed on the couch unaccompanied?).

2. She has a CD out.

3. Her CD - by some strange quirk of fate (produced by the BBC ) contains lots of the songs which appear on SDC - which does actually explain a lot about the music 'choices'!

Exactly what I was getting at last night - Tony Blackburn supporting Emma and then Bruno putting his oar in. Maybe because the popularity waned a little there is the need to remind us of how wonderful she is - please more promo for Matt Dawson and Carole Smillie they have had the more incredible journey thus far given their backgrounds

But there is no journey more incredible than Emma's. Maybe you haven't realised this - but dancing with the Spice Girls is nothing like ballroom dancing! Emma is more of a beginner than anyone! Plus, she's so undermarked. She deserved straight 9s at the weekend! I hope they get a few more Emma supporters on, so that the message will finally get through.

Please - Matt Dawson is / was a rugby player and that isn't even in the same stratosphere as Emma - she may not have danced this way before but SHE HAS performed before and done choreography, also one of the judges did say performance and a smile and mistakes are forgiven. Much as I dislike ranting on the forums I also object to your saying "maybe you haven't realised this......" I am not stupid I know it is different but how different are rugby and ballroom dancing - I rest my case!

I think Matts had the least promo of all the celebs, i.e
no kids, pop stars, celeb friends, just good old mum and
dad saying their pleased for him!

Have to say having watched goughies old dances, Craigs
original assessment came flooding back.
'Chunky, lumpy, horrible hands'. He just seemed to huff
and puff his way through to the end.

Even if she was undermarked this week (& I'm not saying she was), she was overmarked in others and a lot of the other couples have been undermarked consistently.

Sorry but I can't help myself!

The public must have placed them Darren, Colin, Zoe in order to get the result we got

If the judges had put Colin first then Zoe then Darren, Colin would have had 5 points and would have won...

littlealbatross - you cannot be serious with your assessment
of Emma. Along with Loiusa, they were at stage school
from an early age. That means they have had years of
training on how to perform and discipline
Just because they didn' ballroom dance doesn't mean
they don't have a clear advantage over the others. That
is why I won't be voting for either of them

Misguided attempt at sarcasm and humour on my part. I apologise for the confusion. I wasn't calling you stupid, I was agreeing with you.

And fear not, bigtoe it was not a serious assessment.

I watched the show round at a friends on Saturday and all of us watching (an alternative panel but without the kids it would be a public service to pummel) - that's 2 women, 2 chaps (watching under duress they said, although they seemed to know more about it than a casual watcher would know ) and none-pummel worthy teenager didn't rate Emma's dance at all.!

Again on ITT they talked about the entrance and exits to the lift - but the first lift Darren just seemed to plonk her on the floor and she just stood there - and on first watching the whole dance just seemed very disjointed.

** just so that no accusations of Emma bashing can be leveled - my friend had voted for Emma every week unitl Saturday **

okay - just keen for people to realise how far Matt Dawson has come and get rattled when ITT is constantly full of Emma supporters.

Matt and Lillia will probably have Thursday to themselves, with both of the girls on tomorrow and Carol usually on ITT on Fridays.

This is rather off-topic but still related to tonight's ITT.

I noticed that when Claudia revealed the 'secret weapon' of Karen and Mark, he really looked VERY uncomfortable. I mean, he often was speechless when the girls mercilessly teased him, but this time, he looked really, I don't know, insulted? I think he even uttered under his breath "It's horrible" or something.

I know it's supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, but if you can, look at the clip again and you'll find he must be cringing inside and wished the floor opens up and swallow him up there and then.

Finally watched Marian's behind-the-scene clip shared by Greytop, that was the bit I missed recording into my harddisk and I think she should be a permanent 'reporter' for ITT! Marvellous!
