Ballroom is just easier than latin, right?

well, i don't know really, but it seems to me that some ballroom dances are just a lot easier to score well on, especially the waltz and especially if you're a woman......you just get manhandled round, it looks to me, as long as you pull a nice face, you'll get a good score......

that's what Rachel did and she got 40...........

ok maybe that's a bit harsh but there were NO HEEL LEADS!!! it was all on the toes - Len's favourite thing to moan about so I have no idea where he was looking.

Ballroom is hard technically regarding the footwork and the hold - yes she looked lovely but her footwork was wrong.

I am really irritated right now, can you tell

Yes, I would have to agree that the dance was overmarked - if it's any consolation, I don't think the public will vote her the winner.

Actually in terms of technique it's probably harder. But I think in latin when you make mistakes and technical errors they are more noticeable, especially as 3 of the 4 judges don't really know all that much about the footwork in ballroom. On the flip side it is easier to 'wow' people with latin dances.

It would certanily seem so. The list of can't-Latin-good-at-Ballroom appears every year. And if I'm not wrong there is at least one professional who has nothing but disdain for Latin dancing

Nope. I find ballroom harder and much more technical with alignments and such.

Latin is allllllllll about the love of the dance and the love of life.

This is why shark-eyed robot people cannot do it properly.

Oh, and the English struggle with the rolling hips that don't lie!

Vincthbot were always on for the 40 - they have set up the NOT-Bunton thing by harsh comments (that were backed up with erm...good marks ) and now they need to ensure that the BIG, BAD, STUPID PUBLIC don't accidently vote their fav out. You know, like the BBSP have done every other year.

Yes it is. And the Waltz is the easiest dance to perform, seemingly. 35 or over for a Waltz is standard.

This year it seems the majority of the celebs are better at ballroom than Latin but it isn't really a question of one being easier than the other, they require different skills.

From my own experience, ballroom is certainly easier, which, for me, makes Jill Halfpenny stand out from all over competitors, as all of her latin dances were technically perfect

I've yet to see a celeb as good as Jill in latin.

Ah, but now they can ensure she reaches the final, because of the dance-off and the fact that there are only two places in it.

It depends what you like. For me personally the easiest dances are the jive and cha cha cha. Then again I find the foxtrot and tango the two easiest ballroom so maybe I'm just strange

Then explain this to me. Why give her 40 to keep her out of the dance off? They had already given Tom 36. Just 36 (not 40) would've put Rachel joint first. To get solo first she only had to get 37 (ONE 10). They gained NOTHING from giving her those three extra tens.

The rumba apart, Mark Ramprakash was probably better at Latin than ballroom unless Karen forgot that he was not actually a professional dancer and gave him something too fast and complicated (jive).
