I have to disagree with you teewoods. Idon't think he's arrogant in the slightest.
On this programme anyway! I think he was extremely arrogant in his rugby playing days (as they all are!) I think it's the only way that teams win games, and to be fair if you are at all half-hearted in rugby, there's always a chance you may get killed..........
I think he is embodying(sp) the true spirit of dancing, especially with the singing all through tonights performance.
I think he's great.
Everyone has differing opinions which is brilliant, and everyone is entitled to their own

I have to with agree, i cant stand him but i dont really no why?
He's not as smug as Tom. I think its the fact he is a sportsman rather than an actor, T.V personality etc like the others that means he doesn't always come across well.

Im sick of all the Austin bashing no way is he smug and arrogant that is tom for sure. He is tongue in cheek and funny and he laughs at himself too!!
Def. disagree - he knows he isn't the worst dancer but he never seems to assume that he will be the best. He recognises that different people have different dancing strengths and weaknesses. I'm glad he doesn't fall into any kind of false modesty but I really don't see any smugness in his performances or his VTs.
This is the first Austin bashing I've seen yet, or I'd have jumped in with both feet! 
I haven't noticed him being smug, I just don't see what all the fuss is about. I don't think he's remotely attractive - and in that respect he couldn't hold a candle to Tom, who's much better looking.

or people just have different opinions. Go figure! Austin is above average but I wouldn't say he was anything special and his personality really puts me off.
So far we have Austin, Tom, Cherie and ... all being smug. Maybe that's the theme of this year's SCD?
Yep, Austin has the moves but he puts me off with the attitude, ditto Erin.
Have been calling them the Smug Twins for a while now.
Haven't noticed either Tom or Cherie being smug, where did that come from??? At least Tom looks like he enjoys every dance and certainly has much better hip action than Mr Smug.

I like Austin, but I get the feeling he is not dealing with it very well, he looked lost on the floor tonight and he made a few mistakes.
He must be used to pressure, so is there something eles is going on.......

You are mistaking focus and determination for smugness. Austin looked like he was enjoying himself tonight and in every dance so far. He is stronger in ballroom than latin but still great at the latin and definately not smug!!
Austin's not really showing up on my newly installed smugometer (obtainable at £9.99 from B&Q as a special promotion for SCD)

Oh come on! Have you seen Tom on ITT? He is no way as self centred as Austin, who is Mr Me! Me! Me!
Tom is an actor and likes to dramatise a tad but but Austin...oh God that smug smirk on his face needs to be wiped off now!!
I really like Erin (hence my name), I think Austin has been consistently good the whole way through the competition and I appreciate how hard he has worked....but he is smug IMO and it puts me right off voting for them.
I think there's a fine line between confidence and smugness, but Austin's on the right side. He's arrogant, but in an acceptable way, I think to be a top sportsman in a game like rugby you have to be a bit of a wind up merchant.
I think he comes across as a really nice person, much nicer than Tom who just strikes me as a someone I'd never tire of slapping. He's got the dancer's girn down pat.
