Oh, please. I condone the behaviour of both JR and R, but the blame lies with the editors, especially as it wasn't live! The controller of Radio 2 was at fault, as was anyone eles who oked transmission. Dance is a part of Strictly, but it is not the whole story. The fun is seeing how the unnatural dancers progress, not the likes of Rachel who will have had dance training when she was a part of S Club 7. Clearly, you have lost the reason why Strictly exsists. It is not to see good dancers get better, but to see how not so good dancers improve and develop.

I'll leave you to it, I'm happy enough enjoying the programme rather than engaging in petty campaigns of little relevance connected to a hard-nosed political journalist who is more than capable of standing up for himself”

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but do you honestly believe that John decided to leave the show of his own accord? Be real. He was under increasing pressure from his fellow pros, the judges and the BBC a like. The BBC are so hung up on "raising the bar", that it clearly bothered them that John was getting through and that the power was not with the judges and the BBC. John, big respect to you. I love Strictly, but the fun left tonight with you matey. Where is the fun and interest now?

I'd give my right arm to be 'destroyed' like John, laughing all the way to the bank

I think I see your point - trouble is some of us neither want nor need your guidance, well intentioned though it may be.

Your clearly not a dancing fan. I suppose you were one of the many who voted for John not because you liked him but just to get at the judges.
By the way do you not think the real reason for John leaving was perhaps the nice P&O cruise that he is going on this week as an after dinner speaker. This was planned and booked m,onths ago!!

If you are going to get all het up and shout for a boycott try making it for a good cause at least. Look at what's happening out there in the world. There's plenty more to get annoyed about rather than a light entertainment show.

That is fine. I am just trying to make people see through the spin. The BBC have got what they wanted. They are totally running scared at the moment. The BBC are a company I support and enjoy. For me, their dirty tricks this time is below par

I will stick by my feelings on John which ever way the wind is blowing. What annoys me is that it is fashionable to like John one minute, but not the next. When will you lot wake up and smell the coffee. The other pros, the judges, the BBC couldnt handle John's popularity. They couldnt handle the poeple having the power. For me, a once exciting and interesting show has lost its greatest assist, John. The BBC have killed Strictly.

1. Dont be using the cruise as a weapon. Total rubbish.
2. Yes I am a fan of seeing the not so good develop and progress. Where is the fun in former pop stars or actors who will have all had some dance training of some kind or other.
3. I was and will remain the anti - judge brigade. I wont be controlled by anyone. I know whose journey I was interested in and that person has just left.

Ok yawn, that argument has been well rehearsed and trotted out many times. Move along the queue...

Well, all that I'll say is that he has rubbed shoulders with many a political spin doctor.

Well, obviously you don't believe so, and therefore you choose to disbelieve JS himself.

Quote:
“ Be real. He was under increasing pressure from his fellow pros, the judges and the BBC a like”

He was? And, other than in the tabloids, this "increasing pressure" (especially from the BBC) was evidenced where exactly?. And I note that you conveniently dismiss the cruise booking, as it would blow a big hole in your personal theory.

Quote:
“ The BBC are so hung up on "raising the bar", that it clearly bothered them that John was getting through”

A wild (and convenient) assumption with no evidence.

Quote:
“ and that the power was not with the judges and the BBC.”

Another assumption based on no proper evidence.

Al of which builds a picture of a convenient conspiracy theory, and like I stated, the more that people try to disprove it, the more convinced the conspiracy theorists are. And if such theories float your boat, then carry on.

I imagine his fees for lectures have gone through the roof. Well done John for manipulating the GBP! (Not all of us though)

Why on earth would I want to support John, I don't agree with his decision to leave at all.

How odd!!!!!!! - John not to blame for previous two years - you either could see into the future and decided not to vote on that basis - or you really haven't worded your statement too brilliantly (tongue in cheek - no bashing me please)

Don't worry about not 'smelling the coffee', JS has never been in fashion with me but good luck to him and his new found popularity, his farcical performance did the trick.
