I personally think Rachel is amazing and apart from this and last week has been sadly under marked.

IMO she without doubt deserved 4 10's tonight.

No way did she deserve four tens! She stumbled and missed several steps- had anyone else done that they would have penalised. Its a travesty that she received a perfect score.

For me she is cold and she doesn't sell the dance at all.

I'm not anti Rachel I thought she did a charming dance but not a 4 10's dance imo

Rachel is one of my favourite - not my most favourite, but one of them. Last week and tonight I thought she was amazingly good, tonight in particular she also let a fun side to her show through.

You seem to know more about dance than the average forum member. Could you specify which steps she missed?

I'm not anti-Rachel - her dance was beautiful and deserved 9s, but not 10s - she did all of it on the toes as far as I could see and Len at least would normally penalise people for that.

I'm not anti-Rachel as a person, she seems like a perfectly nice, sweet girl. She just bores me to tears when she dances. As I said elsewhere, IMO all the right steps with the personality of a dishcloth.

Someone in another thread called it 'dancing by numbers' and I couldn't agree more.

I like Rachel but I think she's been overmarked by the judges for the past two weeks because they don't want to see a situation where she's in the dance-off again.

How should I know what steps she missed? Im not a dancer- but me and my family and several others on this forum saw her stumble. Had anyone done it, it would have been mentioned. Teachers pet gets away with it

I think it's simply to provide a sensible balance to the not wholly deserved adulation from the judges.

Me and my family and several others on the forum didn't see her stumble so what does that prove... it's all a matter of perception and not a statement of fact.

Her dances always seem to take ages for me. I guess I'm never excited to see her, and most of her dances haven't really done it for me.

I'm not anti-Rachel really, though, I suppose it's because I haven't warmed to her thus far.

Why do people always drag this up when the female dancers they like get criticised? Isn't it possible that some people just don't enjoy watching her dance, female or not?

When I watched the dance the first time I felt it didn't "flow" very well and I wasn't sure what Rachel was doing with her feet, but I am by no means an expert so couldn't say what was wrong. It didn't particularly work for me and I was underwhelmed.

Then the judges waxed lyrical and gave her four 10s. I noted Len's remark that he hadn't been wowed by her jive but now he was wowed by everything. I thought her jive was great, better than this fox trot. But what do I know? I often find myself out of synch with what the judges think. So often I watch what I think is a great dance by somebody only to hear the criticism, and vice versa when I sit there unmoved and the judges go bananas. Perhaps you have to be there live.

Now Cherie's gone, the judges seem to have picked Rachel out for special praise and marks.

I'm not anti Rachel at all. I think she's delightful, love her dancing and she's currently my favourite. I was really pleased for her and Vincent tonight.

Because there is a good deal of truth in it. Competitve young girls who dont go all jokey are not liked. Saying that if Rachel was in her 50's she would be forgiven. Just my 2 pence.

It was too bland for me. But then I didn't think anyone deserved tens tonight.
