I had my first of several Thanksgiving feasts tonight. It was a complilation of tried and true Southern favorites: cheese grits, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, turkey, stuffing with giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, crawfish stuffing (we had a Louisiana lady in our mix). We had pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, pecan pie AND banana pudding.

I'm about to head home to Texas to do proper Thanksgiving with the fam where we stuff ourselves with food then lay around watching football until we pass out in a turkey coma.

I love this holiday.

That's the best part - we do it at Christmas as well. Christmas is like this wonderful repeat of Thanksgiving but with gifts!

Sounds brilliant. I'll be in Florida next year for Thanksgiving so really looking forward to it.

I'll watch an episode of Friday Night Lights in your honour!

We'll be celebrating on Thursday and I'm nervous because I'm doing the whole meal myself. We used to have it at my grandma's and I would just make some of the side dishes. I love to cook and consider myself a very good cook but for some reason roasting the turkey makes me nervous. There's always the fear it will be raw inside or something. lol It's already in the fridge thawing.

We're having turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, broccoli with cheese sauce and apple pie with vanilla ice cream later.

We're going out on Thursday for a full blow-out Thanksgiving dinner with 8 Americans. I can't wait, i'm looking forward to trying everything!
