Someone has to be the worst dancer. That does not mean she should stay or go. There is no "ought to" about it. Otherwise the weaker dancers should throw themselves on their swords early-doors and rondée off. Not that you could do that with a sword sticking out of your belly though. Maybe...
So her cha-cha wasn't great. No need to stick the knife in. She got bottom marks but escaped the dance-off due to getting lots of votes.
What is the big deal about that? Do we have to grind her into the parquet floor just because she has the temerity to TRY?”
Okay, I think this probably counts as the most sensible post on this thread so far!

Ah, now there I think you may have hit on something we can agree on.

I too was sorry to see Jodie leave and would have loved to see her tango. I would quite happily have seen Lisa go, and actually thought Jodie out-danced her in the dance off (although possibly not the original performance). (I really wasn't agreeing with the judges at all this weekend.

As I mentioned on another thread during the JS debacle, I can completely understand why someone would be upset if their favourite was knocked out in favour of an apparently less competent but superficially more engaging competitor. I would have been very upset had Jodie or Christine gone while John had been saved. But I personally don't think the difference between Jodie and Christine in terms of skill/charm is so wide as that between John and the rest of the field before he stepped down, so I am less unhappy about the perceived injustice. Both deserved a chance to go through as much as the other in my view (but that is very much my view.

By the way, I think I may have misread you, but I do hope you don't think I would ever tell you, or anyone else, how to vote. I will quite happily explain and defend how I choose to vote but I wouldn't presume to assume that that would ever influence anyone else's choice.
