Too many dances?
Am I wrong in thinking that if the couples are dancing TWO routines this week, they're going to run out of dances?
Each couple has now performed 8 of the standard 12 dances, and it's four weeks til the final. The way I see it, it should be: > Week 11 - one standard dance (9th dance) > Week 12 (quarterfinal) - two standard dances (10th/11th dances) > Week 13 (semifinal) - one standard dance (12th dance) & Argentine tango If they're doing two dances this week (week 11), does this mean they're doing a new dance at some point, or are they repeating one from earlier in the series? |

Don't the dances in the final include the showdance and at least one dance of their own choosing from the series? That is... three dances on Final night.

There are 12 standard dances performed in the competition, and the Argentine tango is performed in the semifinal. I'm just saying that if the couples are performing TWO dances this week (as we were told), they're going to run out of dances, unless they're performing a new dance at some point, or repeating something they've already performed. Does anyone know? |

Maybe it's all one big mistake and they've forgotten how many dances they're meant to do...

![]() Alternatively, there may be some form of judges' choice dance in there. I'm not sure the mambo will be introduced as a new dance (as is being suggested occasionally), because it's latin like the AT. |

They may well do as is done in DWTS - the couples pick a dance style which they have already performed and choreograph a new routine with new music. That may happen in the semi-final with the second dance being the Argentine Tango.

Dudes, we're talking about BEFORE the final, when the only new routine they do (apart from fillers) is the showdance.
In theory, the couples have to do two dances next week (5 couples to 4), two the week after (4 to 3), plus one more and the AT in the semi-final (3 to 2). So couples getting to the semis need to do FIVE new dance styles! Has everyone got 5 left to pick from, or are they going to have to think up a new tactic? And while I'm ranting, why shouldn't they pick a new Latin style like the mambo or milonga (top, top routine from V&F on Sunday by the way )? Given how good they all are at ballroom, this'd be the perfect way to sort out the contenders from the dross.
