Diana's already sung the winners song - is it fair
According to insiders the winner will record a cover of Leonard Cohen's single Hallelujah, which has already been performed by Diana Vickers during the early stages of the show.

I think its a bit of bull from the papers.
But if not this could go against Diana as many will see it as X factor have done this as a "fix "and people will then start to go against it show. IMO. |

Dont think it matters myself that was back when people liked that little quirky screach thing.
The fact she is becoming a parady of herself means that people probably wont like it. |

I think the song would suit anyone, not just Diana, so no i don't think it matters if she sang it before or not

OP Is only half right
The song was sung by more than half of the contestants at boot camp as it was a choice of 3 songs. Scott, Ruth and JLS did arrangments of it too and we don't know if Alexandra or Eoghan did but Diana was the only one who had her version shown.
So while people can cry fix. Who is to say Simon didn't view the JLS version or the possible Alex version as more worthy? At least get facts right op. |

It's blatent favouritism. It will make alot of people feel sorry for the other contestants. Diana will be more disliked. X Factor has done her no favours atall, she is just being fast tracked like leona lewis. Had Diana made it on her own as a recording artist I think she may have actually stood a chance, but now she is just a laughing stock.

Those who got through to bootcamp only had a limited number of songs to chose from, so alot of people would have sung Hallelujah at bootcamp. They only focused on Diana's because it was breath-taking.

If it is the winners song, I agree it is not fair
![]() I didnt know the others sang it too though. But isnt it a bit like Rachel being allowed to sing Amy Winehouse like at her audition? That was a good performance, but is that not favouritism too? |

Before telling someone to get their facts right, as you just made yours look like you didnt get yours facts right. As no where did he state it was facts. He also didnt say that the other didnt sing it. And what he say was true as Diana did sing it before.

So by only mentioning 'Diana' the facts were wrong. Feels good being a lawyer.

It wouldn't surprise me too much the more I think about it.
It has been on American Idol this year (where it was a massive hit), selected for the bootcamp list and then included on Il Divo's new album. The last point is interesting... if 4 classically trained multi-national singers can adapt it to their style, how hard can it be for anyone else?! The song is so open to interpretation. If it were to be used, I expect it could even harm Diana. After all, we've seen it before, Ruth could blow it out the water on the other hand. I doubt it is true anyway. Even though Simon promised he had "something up his sleeve" for the winners single, I expect that only to be "Born to Try" or something of that ilk. No doubt with a big choir in the background. "Hallelujah" might be the B-side or perhaps form part of a double A? |

To say that Diana Vickers has already sung the winners song is totally wrong!
There is no way that girl can sing anything. She is so overrated it is not true. To say she sings is an utter disgrace she only makes a noise like two cats out on the tiles screeching and wailing. |

I don't think it really matters, if some of the others sang the song previously at boot camp.
At first I thought it was blatent favouritism as I thought Diana was the only act to have sang that, but I didn't know some of the others sang it as well, so I don't think it matters. |
