The list of recordings in Media view on my Freesat HDR is seriously corrupted.

I have folders, some empty, some containing recordings, and several unwatched programmes recorded by single timers rather than by series timers.

Scattered amongst the list of the single recordings are 45 entries, all of zero minutes and all of programmes either currently present within series folders or previously deleted from series folders. There are multiple instances of each programme.

The entries are displayed as 'new' recordings (ie unviewed) and report themselves as 'Recording has failed. Unknown reason' when highlighted and OK is pressed.

As some of these 'phantom' entries are repeat entries of programmes that have not yet been viewed I am loath to start deleting them.

Anyone had anything similar?

And again today...

Still my box set of Foyles War DVD's arrived so I can watch them instead.

My first failed recording. Set a series timer for 'BBC News including Newswatch' which has failed to fire while I've been watching a recording.

There's another set for this time next week but no sign of tonight's.

Bit off-topic but...............

Set up Sanctury (ITV4) to series record on my Hummy and my Sony RDR-HXD890 yesterday. First four episodes recorded okay on the Hummy last night, but on the Sony only the first two recorded correctly. The third started and kept going until I stopped it when I woke up . Still at least the six hour recording had both episodes in it

Freesat is ahead on points at the moment.

Four more episodes tonight and the last three on Sunday.

Let's see who wins

I have had further problems with my Foxsat HDR this evening.

I went into Media view to play a series link programme from within its folder whilst the programme was still recording. As soon as I pressed 'Play from the start' the box became unresponsive and the programme failed to play. None of the buttons on the remote control, or on the box itself, elicited a response of any kind.

After waiting until the programme was due to have stopped recording I tried again but the box was still unresponsive. Pressing 'Standby' on the front panel also had no effect so I had to turn the power of at the wall switch.

After the box had rebooted I was able to access the recording which was marked as having failed with no reason. I was, however, able to view the recording in its entirety.

Looks to me like we need a firmware tweak or two real soon now...

Just reported my issues with the HDR to Humax and the email has bounced: 'freesat@humaxdigital.com
#550 5.2.2 STOREDRV.Deliver: mailbox full.'

Hope that doesn't mean there are so many problems being reported that their email has melted!

Sounds like they're email is overloaded with issues from customers!

I found a new bug, or shall I saw "feature" today, when in media I change device to USB, then select a recording to play back, that bit works fine, but if I then press stop I end up back at the HDD media directory!! I then have to change drive etc...to get back to the video I had stopped very annoying

I've had the Humax since it very first came out and although it has missed a minute or two from the start of programmes occasionally it had never once missed any of the ends.

That was until I started recording the little 5 min snippets where an actor talks about his character and the making of the programme. I've recorded 5 of these so far, initially by setting each timer and then by series link and every single one has ended before the completion of the programme.

It's almost as if the Humax thinks: "This programme is too short to bother with padding".

Perhaps using the published email address would help

Why does the EPG not fully populate, usually after midnight. This is extremely annoying, will this be fixed by a software upgrade or is it a fault with my Humax HDR?

If I do press the Info button in a blank part of the EPG it does give details, they are just not displayed, happens every night!!!!!

The hdr epg should completely repopulate (about 30sec) when you press the guide button provided a tuner is available and can access the data steam from Eurobird One (Only likely to be an issue when working on one cable). The archived epg is available without updating by pressing schedule and then red on the remote

I have had this same problem with my 2 LNB setup since installed. When viewed just after midnight, "the epg is populating" according to the on screen hint but it doesnt fill the missing sections.

As the posted noted you can get the script from using the info button but its not in the epg.

For me this is almost as annoying as watching a chase play and having it jump to the live state once the prog ends.

I've never had this happen, and I watch a lot of stuff in chase play.

Failed to record on Thursday and Friday on mine too. Out of the five episodes I got only Wednesday's.

I have the Granada Region.

I had it once but could replicate it, I just gave up using the EPG at that time and it was fine ever since.

I've seen it too... loads of blank entries when looking at EPG after midnight.
Was not recording anything, and had used "Guide" button (not Schedule" red) - but it came up instantly, and I couldn't get it to re-populate.
I've also seen a virtually empty EPG when I was recording 2 shows, so it could not re-scan the EPG - but there were only about 10 programmes in there for 7 days (on channels 101-107 anyway)! I thought the EPG was stored on disk, so it should have been there from earlier - unless it gets blanked at midnight!

Just a thought, may be it happens when the stb is busy creating chapter thumbnails.

Right another thought may be it's as a result of the date change. Has anyone reported similar on other freesat-stbs to rule out the data stream simply not having the data. ? (it's having a Cinderella experience )

I think thats more likely that it may have been around midnight where it could have been deleting the previous days EPG and getting the next days EPG.

As reported earlier, I am still getting 'freezing' in playing back HD recordings from BBC HD channel. In the 'Swarm' (part 1) which I have only just watched, it froze four times at varying intervals during playback.

What happens is the picture freezes then a small blue info window appears over the frozen picture saying 'This channel is scrambled or is not transmitting'. Then a few seconds later the screen will blank. A further few seconds later (about ten seconds total duration) the picture and playback will suddenly resume PRECISELY where it stopped. Missing nothing, just the unwelcome delayed 'advert break'.
I have constantly checked signal strength and BOTH tuners are receiving 100% quality and strength.

Could this be hard disk trouble (original as supplied with machine)? Or is it a bug. Anyone else experienced it?

Cheers.

Barry.

Sounds like a transmission interuption during recording. Weather atmospheric?
Flyer 10

Sounds like the weather interfering, Im not sure the signal strength and quality are updated that quickly so intermittent problems might not show up on there.

I've noticed a strange problem recently. I was watching Bargain Hunt over lunch when the phone rang. I paused the programme whislt on the phone, then carried on watching - but the subtitles appeared on the paused recording. I was unable to turn them off for the rest of the recording.
I don't usually have the subtitles activated, but I checked anyway, and they weren't.
Has anybody else had this? I've read through the 27 pages of this thread and not found any one else.
