Could it be when there is two recordings at the same time. Going to do some tests.

Test 1

Recorded 1 channel. Started watching recording in chase play back 5 mins before end of recording due. Recording stopped with no effect on playback at all. Recording is also 100% complete

Test 2

Recorded two, first starting before and ending after 2nd recording. Started watching 2nd from beginning 10 mins before it was due to finish, no effect on playback when recording finished and complete programme recorded. Looks like a bug in your box try a factory reset.

Theres loads of people with this problem, you look like the only one without it, what firmware do you have? The original?

Nope the latest. If you can think of any other combinations I will try them but I can't reproduce this problem. Only thing I can think of is none of the recordings were series linked, but why this might matter is beyond me.

Can you say what you did to get into chasing playback ?

I have never experienced this either.

Are you actually 'Chase Playing'

AIUI - Chase Play is playing back a programme (whilst it is still recording) from, in this case, the Media List.

Sounds to me as if you are rewinding, and playing back from the buffer, this is called TSR Time Shifted Recording.

Yes I am selecting a recording from the media list that has not finished recording and chase playing it, it was a series linked recording 'Masterchef'.

Perhaps that might be clue! I really dont know, but it does miff me off, and I am not the only one by the sound of it.

I have Loader Version 7.51 Firmware and lastest software HPRSFCI 1.00.02

I cant remember but its happened for sure.

Maybe the person above can try TSR to see if it was that.

That would explain why it didnt always happen to me, it worked when I went to the media list and didnt work when I paused and used TSR.

Heres another one, go into the guide while watching ITV HD and it sends you back to ITV1.

However going into the media section doesnt do this.

that's because pressing guide steals a tuner to download the epg.

If you press schedule and red it displays the buffered epg so this should not affect what you are watching

So why does it steal the tuner you are watching and not the free one?

Its still a bug and needs to be fixed.

Because the code was stolen from the non-PVR version which only has one tuner?

I noticed today that if you access the ITV HD service and then leave it by changing channel directly (i.e. not pressing blue to drop back to the SD stream first) then when you switch back to ITV you can only watch the SD stream and are not offered the red button prompt to access the HD stream. To get the HD prompt back you have to switch the unit off (i.e. standby) and back on.

I have not found this at all, switching is ok on my box.

I will try that when next watching ITV HD, pretty sure that it's OK on mine as occasionly to clear a lip synch problem I have done exactly what you described and gone back to say 101 and then returned to 103. Although you don't get the red button prompt pressing it still works.

Is there any info as to when we might be receiving the next firmware update? I haven't seen Bob_cat on here much recently and i don't suppose he would be able to say anyway but a Q1 or Q2 indication would be good for starters!

I'm pretty certain I tried pressing Red to switch the HD service after giving it a few seconds. I will try again the next time I notice a ITV HD broadcast.

Im pretty sure with my old Humax 9200 when in chase play if i pressed the record button it would record from wherever i was watching till the end of the program but on the HDR it only gives the option to jump to live broadcast or keep watching. Can the HDR not do this or am i imagining things about my 9200

I've not ever had this. Are you confused by the fact that the Red button for HD is NOT available during the adverts?

Hasn't anyone else noticed the fact that the Blue button is not available any more (or is it just me and channel 977?). When you press Red to get to ITV HD, it then offers you Red to get to ITV HD again (a second or two), and if you do press Red again you get the 'Loading ITV HD' in a little box on ITV HD! (It's been like this for a few weeks now, see these: http://s442.photobucket.com/albums/q...s%20red%20bug/)

You are correct the 9200 can do this the hdr can't. It's one of the most requested features or reported bugs, depending on your point of view

Last night I was recording (and watching) BBC HD all evening. Also due to record were two consecutive programmes on BBC2. I know those timers were there because I checked them earlier in the day. Later in the evening I checked the Media List and only the first of the BBC2 programmes had recorded, the second one was missing and its timer was still at the top of the list. Luckily, the second programme, High Altitude, was shown on BBC2 Scotland at 23:30 so I was able to record that.

These random failures-to-record are one of the most irritating things about this box. It doesn't help that it's not easy to see that two programmes are recording simultaneously. The front panel only shows a single 'REC', and it's not very convenient to have to remember to press the 'i' button to get the roundels, whilst you are engrossed in another programme.

I've just tried it with the current ITV program and it appears to be working now.

I do remember when I was playing with it previously that at one point I pressed red and just got the ITV HD black screen and logo and nothing else happened. I suspect this may have been the ITV HD service "crashing" (Foxsat bug?). I thought I'd cleared the fault by changing to another channel and then back to ITV however I suspect that the Foxsat was now confused and was why it didn't offer me the HD prompt.
