Did anyone else watch that programme earlier where they got an Asian matchmaker to find a bloke for a British girl?

Not so much a split infinitive as a preposition at the end of a sentence!

I'm sure Eryn will explain it properly, but it should be 'I'm just wondering to whom I might have given the wrong idea'. Sounds a bit formal though

and why can't you put prepositions at the end of a sentence?

Good, thanks, and interesting! Breakfast on the patio, visited the botanical gardens, hire car broke down in a tunnel (listened to Lee on MP3 player while waiting for replacement), looked in Cathedral etc.

She certainly had very different ideas from the poor woman who she was finding a bloke for. It involved her family and friends scouting round for suitable men and culminated in them meeting at a party surrounded by all their friends and relatives. What a nightmare social situation

Trouble is, it worked and my mum said she thought it was a great idea. Now I have visions of her emailing everyone she knows to hunt out potential husbands

I've never understood what the difference between "who" and "whom" is either

'to go' is an infinitive

'to boldly go' is a split infinitive

It's split if a word comes between 'to' and the verb
