Apologies if there is already a thread on this but I just spotted this article on DS:

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/xfactor/...ners-song.html

Sounds like it could be true. A better choice than Born to Try, definitely, and also a nice song without obvious cheesey parallels to the "X Factor journey."

However, it has a song that has been covered to death, and it is very biased to choose a song sung by a contestant in her audition. I can see why everyone would be angry about this even though I am a Diana fan!

If they go with this song then they are nuts. It is totally unfair to use a song sung by any of the contestants.

About time this show paid out for a new song to be written, and stopped using covers, they take enough money off the public and we get a crap song, and it still ends up at number one, which I hope does not happen this year.

Well I'd prefer Born to Try simply because its a song I can envisage all the remaining contestants doing.

"Hallelujah" isn't that kind of song however, although I am pretty sure Alexandra and Ruth could do a great job with it.

Diana's version sucked IMO anyway - its been covered by far better singers than her.

As has been pointed out elsewhere 'Hallelujah' was one of the song choices given to the performers who got through to Boot Camp, so several of the contestants - not just Diana - have sung it before.

"Citation needed" by any chance? that one was heavily rumoured for a while, but a lot of sources are suddenly mentioning Hallelujah - either may or may not be true.
