Yes, me too, that was fabulous, and I really loved Vincent and Flavia's milonga. Does anyone remember in Strictly Dance Fever a couple danced the milonga ... I think their names were Danny and Jodie

maybe Vincent and Flavia could dance the bachata next?

No ..I'm saying the music is different...there's a beat but lots of varying rhythmic patterns in a piece of tango (allowing for lots of interpretation) and only one driving beat in milonga music

(Sorry,I can't help myself...I'm not really arguing.. just enjoying the opportunity to talk+read about something other than "the judges" and who should be sacked )

So would I...quick hint to Vincent and Flav ....cough cough.."Desde el Alma" "Marga" or "El vals Sonador"

Same here. I'm enjoying reading this ...even though I'm not totally understanding everything being said, its nice to learn about these things from people who are a bit more dance savvy, so thanks guys!

Thanks guys! Nice to know I'm not just annoyingly hijacking the thread with my waffle and desperate attempt not to read about "the other stuff" for a bit. LOL

(Although I wish I was at least 100% more dance savvy as far as tango goes....feel more like a passionate beginner )

If anyone is interested ....I've just found this article which is quite interesting -and might explain Brucie's remarks a bit -

Tango, Milonga and Vals what are they? By Christine Denniston

A great performance.
Could only have been bettered by Vinthenth being replaced by...well, just about anyone really (except Anton obviously).
I bet Brian would be good (although possibly too tall for Flavia?).
Or Brendan.
Or John?

Yeah - it's funny, I used to think Milonga was really difficult, but that's because I was trying to Tango to it at double-time - once I relaxed, stepped on the beat, and threw away most of my tango stuff it became easy-peasy.

Of course, my Milonga is simple as hell, but it works for me.

I know, it's weird, isn't it, talking about dancing? It feels somehow naughty...

really? I can't see any of the others doing it better. Vincent is the maestro.

I have to agree with you Vikenti, I couldn't imagine anyone else dancing with Flavia, they just seem to dance together so well & I thought the milonga was fab . I love watching them dancing the tango & both of their characters just suit the dance so well.
