They are both as bad for me but i get the distinct impression that Tess is probably genuinely nice whereas Cotton just pretends to be to get what she wants. Migh tbe wrong but hey thats my opinion

No not Fearne Cotton! She still talks to the audience like we're all children.

Please God no. I love SCD and if they start messing with it then I'll go off it.

She isnt my cup of tea. I dont see why we cant have 2 males anyway - Anton would work well alongside Brucie.

I like Ferne but I can't see her presenting SCD. Cat Deeley is lovely, I'd forgotten about her, where's she been? Kate Thornton would be nice too.

Tess isn't leaving though, is she?

How can you even suggest such a thing? The less she is on my screen, the better. (Ironically I quite like her on the radio. She's just CRAP at presenting!)

I noticed a few comment's on Fearne's good job presenting the Children In Need Special .

I couldn't make my mind up on her - Did she suit presenting Strictly?

Would you be happy to have Fearne Cotton presenting alongside Brucie, rather than Tess Daly?

Considering how much Fern "Dot" Cotton annoys me, if she were to present SCD, I wouldn't watch. I find her too... eager

That said, and as much as I Love Bruce, there is something about having someone younger in the presenting role. Someone like Anton maybe?

They have the cliche team of old(er) man Brucie and young(er) woman Tess. So how about a total reversal: have an old(er) woman and young(er) man ?

OMG I can't stand any of them!

The only one I adore is Claudia, but she lives quite happily on the ITT sofa. (I don't mean literally, as in flask, sandwiches and a sleeping bag).
I agree!

Cat Deeley
Kate Thornton
Fearn Cotton

What about an ex SCD celeb like........................(fill in name here)?

Suicidal! She's awful and she just can't think on her feet. She makes Tess look good!
Not quite as extreme but nearly! Can't stand the woman shes awful...now stop making me feel grateful for Tess its not an emotion I'm used to!

Oh please. If we're going to replace Tess at least let it be with someone better than she is. Tess might not be perfect but she's settled into the job, the couples are comfortable with her and we know what we're getting. Why replace her with someone just as (or even more) bland who doesn't even know the routine or the dancers? Definitely better the devil you know in this case.

I've always wondered what Gethin and Alesha would be like as presenters.

Gethin has presenting experience, and knows the show. Alesha has a bubbly personality to offset Gethin's quiet side and seemed ok presenting during Children in Need. They also seemed good friends while doing the show so the natural chemistry should be there.

I think they'd work well together.

All the suggested replacement are equally abhorrent - including Alesha and Gethin as much as I really enjoyed them on the show.

(I watched Alesha's documentary recently..the one about image and photo retouching...it made me want to put my fist through the telly )

I think Tess is irritating... with her cow eyed looks to the camera, foot in the mouthitis but I don't think she should be replaced......the mild irritation is part of the show...I enjoy moaning about it, cringing on occassion...

Nobody needs or should be replaced as far as I'm concerned. It's the faffing around for no good reason - ie "refreshing the format"- that ultimately spoils all these shows.

(And as an aside - if the producers do start getting rid of folk, pros, judges..whoever.... in the light of forum whinging or because of "he who shall not be named" ...then it will be dark days for scd.

I think it's weird that Claudia keeps mentioning the forums. It gives us a very overinflated sense of our own importance don't you think ? And I say this of course in my official capacity as "The Voice of the People"

Shouldn't that poor junior researcher/intern be given the day off from reading all this nonsense. Bet they've got millions of segment ideas of their own but no one ever listens.... just have to sit by their computer reading waffle all day...getting RSI... )

Fearne Cotton? Oh please no. I wouldn't have thought this would enough 'cred' for her anyway.

Alesha would actually be a very good choice - warm, friendly and knowledgeable, and there is precedent for an ex-competitor getting involved after Natasha KerFoulsky did it for a bit - but there were rumours of Alesha turning down other work to focus on her singing career, so perhaps she wouldn't do it if asked.

Can't say I love Tess - think it is all a bit of a facade with her, but definitely preferable to "renta presenta" Fearne.

I agree, it's not broke so it doesn't need fixing

In this economic climate I would have thought the BBC could save some money and only have one person to front the show. Most of the female presenters are false, plastic and stand there, simpering sweetly and batting their eyelids and don't do much else really.

Well, I really love Fearne I think she really talented at what she does as well as bringing a younger edge to all the stuff she does.

I know she's not hugely popular, but I just had to show my support because I don't think one person on this thread seems to hate her ... and any other success female considered!

I'd prefer Cat Deeley but I agree if Anton were not competing then he and Bruce would be a great double act, especially with Bruce's innuendos about being Anton's dad. Maybe Brucie could sort of adopt Anton!
