They both called him selfish. I don't see Brendan putting across his point in a better way than James did. Just my opinion though.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned ths yet as I haven't ploughed through all the thread on the subject but a key thing may be that this week the dancers have to do 2 new dances and that is a lot of extra physical effort.

The trouble with James' opinion was that he voiced it at the wrong time. To rant directly after he and Cherie had been voted off just made him look childish and spiteful.
If he'd waited a while until things had cooled down the backlash against him probably wouldn't have been so extreme. I doubt James would have got such a negative reaction for voicing his opinion at a later date when emotions weren't so high.

Brendan should have given his opinion to John at the time before John jumped ship and then said publicly that he supported his continued participation. There's no point in saying anything now. He just looks like a tosser.

Thanks for setting the record straight there then guys.
Still, I do think quoting THAT section of the article was misleading in the extreme, given that the rest of the article is Brendan saying nice, positive things that reflect well on him and on the pros in general.
I'm not a militant fan of Brendan, but I object to someone trying to make a point by quoting a short section from a much more balanced article and trying to pass it off as fact for their own ends. Having an opinion is one thing; trying to twist facts to suit your own ends is quite another.
Best to keep out of it, he knows the papers will be very selective in what they print, he was stupid to get involved.

Some of the younger celebs in the past haven't coped very well. It's mentally as well as physically tiring. That I'm sure would have been a factor among the many factors that he went.
I don't see anything wrong with what he's said...but then I forgot St John of Sargeant can do no wrong so I will bow out before the mob chase me with burning torches and pitchforks

The source doesn't sound reliable at all. It's more like this forum's thread for lazy journalists. I for one do not believe that Brendan would say such things, it's more like what the press would like him to say. And of course, if he didn't, they'll write about it anyway. This is how the tabloid work.

I think that John didn't put things very well at the press conference when he withdrew from the competition. His explanation came across as a bit waffly and he didn't really give a specific reason for withdrawing.
Obviously, he didn't want to stir things further by saying the whole circus had got to him, but he later mentioned on ITT, almost as an afterthought, that his wife had received abusive phone calls at their home from members of the public over his continued presence in the competition. If he'd used that as his explanation for withdrawing, I'm sure everyone would have understood and respected the reasoning and that would have been the end of it.

I think Brendan would have been very vocal, if he like James had just been knocked out of the competition - but we will never know now.
