It's really sad but as the statement said, they haven't wanted to be part of the band for some time now.
I personally think Jon Howard will be joining the band permanently & they may already have a new drummer lined up too.
Oh & p.s does anyone have the link or know what it said in that blog that was referenced in the announcement?
I dunno why it's a shock to a lot of people - it's been obvious for years now that there's tension within the band and that they're not comfortable together.
Seeing them live (with NFG as support, which is who I went to see) wasn't brilliant. Felt no real emotion there like I do with all my favourite bands. Then they went and cancelled a couple of shows at the end, with no real reason given. Not nice for the fans!
No real surprise this has happened, it's been clear for a while that Josh's heart isn't in it as much anymore. Hopefully Jeremy, Hayley and Taylor can find replacements and still be a good band but it's very unlikely they'll be anywhere near as good as the Paramore we know, I think they'll now fade away. It's a shame because with each album they released they got better and better.
I think that Justin York (Taylor's brother who toured with them while Josh made final wedding plans with Jenna) will join and play rhythm guitar while taylor takes lead (although, I'm sure justin took lead while josh was away, so maybe he'll do that instead). Not sure about the drummer.
Jon Howard (who is a touring musician) is engaged apparently, what if he left too?
I can't imagine paramore without josh & zac as they've been there since day one.
I'm intrigued to hear new material as I'm a huge fan. Although I could have sworn that they said in interviews that they would be taking most of 2011 off (who can blame them!? They've worked non stop since BNE release in 2009!)
Sad that Josh & Zac left though. I wonder who's going to replace them?
Did you see the interview on MTV.com (it's probably on youtube now)
I do think most of the statement was from Josh's point of view. I noticed in the interview that Hayley Taylor and Jeremy were complimentary of Zac, but they weren't of Josh.
I'm looking forward to new material but it will be strange without the two of them.
It's quite clear now that Ignorance was written about Josh.

I haven't seen the interview yet, I might have a look for it tomorrow. I wonder if their music will sound any different without the two of them? I've only recently got into their music and so far I'm liking it (even though I don't normally listen to that type of music)

Well Taylor & Hayley have written a lot before, some with Josh and some without, so it will be interesting to see from their new material exactly how much input Josh had.
They've already started putting some demos together and said in the interview that they would release this year (they said they don't know whether it will be an album, but it will definately be some form of material).
