What do you think of the Official BB website???

My plan is to get as many opinions as I can and then send them to the BB website editors to let them know just how their web site is being received.

In my opinion, this website is one of the slowest to be updated ever! If you look at the site now Naz is still in the house and you can still vote for her.

Then there is the matter of the pics at the top of the site. Why has Penny been completely crossed out and underlined as gone when Stuart has merely had his picture faded and retains his name under the pic?

All in all a very shoddy websire!

The bb website has started taking ages to load , a couple of days ago it was fast , now its very slow indeed, anyone else noticed this ?

Also alot of the pictures fail to load and you have to right-click on them and select 'show picture' to see them. Very annoying.

And it's even slower than this site was a couple of months ago!

Well, I have never had any problems with the web site - could it be your ISP? I'm on Freeserve Anytime.

I think the web site is brilliant! The team has clearly put a lot of time and effort into it, with detailed reports and really good pictures. Plus they have made some really good-looking wallpapers. Plus you can look at all of the profiles of the people inside Big Brother.

Also, has anybody tried the live camera views, including the SpinCam, which is just so cool!

I just hope that next year, they will be able to combine all of the web's stuff with the interactive side on TV as it would be really professional then!

So MarkBeer, I can only assume that you like reading old news that hasnt been updated when it happens and that you like to waste your time looking at a voting poll that is clearly as flawed as the plans for the Titanic.

I respect your views but fail to understand how design and presentation can make up for a poorly managed site.

Next you will be telling us that you thought Pearl Harbor was a good film

Yeah, I agree. WHy IS Penny 'gone' but not STuart? And it's two days after NAz's eviction and her photo's still up! Also, often the pictures DON'T show up and links don't work. We're told news stories about 6 hours after they happened often with mistypes or just downright spelling mistakes. I thought the site format looked a lot more professional last year - it's a bit amateurish now.

One good thing about the site, is the live video streams though. They always seem to be fairly fast, and the Spin Cam is great!

I usually have a quite quick, for a 56 modem, connection but I find the site takes longer than most others to load. It seems slow to update and I've never waited long enough to see the live cams.

I emailed them last week about the problems, and also wondered about pennys face gone but not Stuarts. No answer back at all

It took them about 2 weeks to add a gallery for Narinder. Also, for some reason I can't connect to the live feed. It buffers for ages and then I get disconnected!

I think the website is probably the poorest of all BB websites i have senn so far.

Where are the high quality feeds now that people are starting to get broadband connections in this country? Every other countries BB I have saw proper high speed feeds for.

The US BB had feeds of 300kbps and had the 4 different camera angles in1 window feed which was cool for the high speeds users. The Norweigan BB had 250kbps streams and even the Australian one has feeds of 155kbps which is still pretty good.

Instead cheap ass Channel 4 who make a mint on phone calls and save £££'s with the small amount of prize money for the winner don't give back to the viewers.

In the US one they had video archives where you could go back i look at stuff that happened the past month. I
e Like say the 3 mins worth of Penny and Stuart arguing which would have streamed at high quality and archives for everyone evicted. There would be like 4 or 5 video clips archived each day, Im sure by the time it was over there would have been close to 10 hours worth of footage to view in the archives.

If you experience broadband quality feeds you could never go back to 56k feeds.

I dont have a broadband cable modem but I can say the 56K feeds are C-R-A-P!

The single reason, I'd guess, as to why there are no high-bandwidth streams from Big Bro in the UK is the ludicrously high price of bandwidth in this country when compared to almost any other country in the world.

Just hosting the 45kbps one probably costs channel four about ten times what hosting a 300kbps feed would cost in America, and I'm not even exaggerating there.

If you want someone to blame, I'd start by looking at that rather large encumbent telco called BT, who combined with the LINX internet hub in London have a near-monopoly on bandwidth, hence can charge whatever the hell they like.

So.....it's all BTs fault, of course. Anyone care to complain to Oftel??
