Viz
Anyone out there remember the good old days of early Viz comic books?
Who were your favourite characters? My personal favourite was Postman Plod (he;s a miserable b*****d)

1989 to 1991 it was brilliant, my favourite character of all time is Roberta Irrelevant, Roger's sister.

The early days of Viz were certainly the best. Roger Irrelevant, Sid The Sexist (had to be read with Geordie accent), The Modern Parents and Tinribs (Hi, I'm Barbie, I love you very much were always my favourites

Zip O'Lightning & Barry The Cat were the best one-offs. My favourite regular characters was Spoilt Bastard, Jack Black & Roger Mellie. The fake adverts were hilarious as well. The Bernard Manning "Fat Racist **** of Hearts" memorial dinner plate had me in stitches

Bottom inspectors for me. I would love to get my hands on a few B.I. stories for my OH, they remind us of HM govt, her employer.

Ah! - the halcyon days, when Viz was actually funny.
I have a couple from back in the days when the writers used to sell 'em around the pubs in Newcastle. I got numbers 3 & 4 that way Then no.s 6 onwards from a little comic shop, up to about 20-odd, when I started to lose interest a little. Faves: Pathetic Sharks Skinheed Professor Piehead S.W.A.N.T. Billy the Fish The Brown Bottle Postman Plod Paul Wicker (The Tall Vicar) Sid the Sexist Biffa Bacon |

Victorian Dad, he was hilarious. I still buy it every month, Fat Slags, Sid, Spoilt Bastard, Roger Mellie, Finbarr, Fru T Bun are still funny. I don`t like Eight Ace or Mrs Brady.

I use to read it at school many years ago and i bought a copy of it the other day it hasn't changed abit.
It's still got all the classic characters in there and they still made me laugh away like they did back then. We had a kid in out class who looked like spoilt bastard lol I have asked the wife to get me a the annual for christmas, it will be good to read when im sat on the chod bin lol |

If she hasn't already bought it then tell her to try Zavvi as they were selling it for £7 when I bought it recently. |
