Get him a tin of Big soup and insist that he drink it ... and wait for him to choke.

As others have said ...

If it has no chewable bits or is / could be served in a cup you drink it .

If you have to chew, you eat it.

Drink if you get it in a tall cup from the local cafe, eat if from a bowl at home.

If it has bits in it that you chew and swallow then you eat it. If it just goes down smoothly you drink it.

Most of the soups I buy I would eat.

What is the best taste/value soups out there ?????

Not the really expensive ones just from the regular everyday ones.

Neither. I "have" some soup.

I'd have thought that if you used a spoon you would be eating it and if you lifted the bowl to your mouth you would be drinking it.

I like Baxter's carrot and butterbean soup. I have it in a large mug and eat the butterbeans and carrot bits with a spoon then drink the rest.

You partake in soup. You don't eat it or drink it.

As was I, although I didn't bring soup spoons to uni - I've only eaten soup here once but it was so strange using a normal spoon

I know it doesn't involve chewing but I still think you eat. You take spoonfuls of it rather than gulping it from a glass. Actually the thought of drinking it from a cup seems quite horrible

If it is in a cup, I drink it. If it is in a bowl, I use a spoon and sip it. If it is chunky, I eat the bits.

My vote is if it's in a mug, you drink it. If it's in a bowl and you're using a spoon, you eat it - regardless of whether it has "bits".

The best soup is soup you make yourself! Want some favorite family recipes?

I think it's a matter of personal taste--for instance, I find Heinz Tomato soup too bitter, and prefer the Tesco Value one.

My favourite canned soup is Tesco Mushroom soup. I cook some instant noodles (only takes a couple of minutes in boiling water), add them to the soup, then heat the lot up in the microwave.

I find that a really satisfying snack.
