A family member (step-dad) works for a company that has the maintenance for Council houses, so they basically do up the houses etc when there are problems.
Well last week he was working in a house that the tenants had recently been evicted from (apparently the house was a complete tip and in the words of my step-dad "they were living in absolute squalor")
Anyway, Bruce (who goes to work with him) was wandering around the garden in and out of the conifer trees all day. Mark thought nothing of it..until yesterday !
Another one of his colleagues who takes his staffy to work with him, was working in the garden, and his dog also kept going into the conifers. He went to have a look as the dog was acting a bit strange...and found a dead staffy
. It looks like it was tethered to the tree (underneath it where it could not be seen) No idea how long he has been there for, due to cold weather maybe a week as body had not started to deteriorate yet.
Mark's boss (who also has a dog) was furious and immediately rang the Council to explain what they had found. The Council are now going to contact the evicted tenants (who are in sheltered housing) and find out what happened to the dog. He also will ensure the RSPCA are aware as if this was done deliberately (how could it not be ?, you don't simply "forget" that you have a dog !" they will hopefully face prosection.
How sad for this poor dog, If they were being evicted and moved to sheltered housing and knew that they could not look after the dog why not give it up to RSPCA or a rescue, or even tell the council...why leave it there ?
If he was tied up there how comes the neighbours didn't hear or report it ?
Poor little staffy r.i.p. x
