I saw the Undertones originally 3 times "back in the day" including when they played at my 21st birthday (and to 100's of other fans I should add) at the Rainbow

I saw them in earlier this year in Brighton and then a couple of weeks ago in Northampton & London then flew with my 3 sons to Ireland to see them play a home town gig in Derry (keen or what ?)

They remain a superb band live and have a new CD out which is getting raves reviews. Don’t’ take my word for it- see this BBC review of the CD -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/music/ao...es_uneed.shtml

A documentary DVD produced by Vinny Cunningham about the band and featuring John Peel is also due out early next year.

If you would like more info about the band, gigs etc the bands official website is www.theundertones.com

This link has clips of the bands current releases, if you are interested :

They have a couple of gigs in Brighton & Sheffield coming up – do try and catch them if you can as they are fantastic live.

Well you don't know what you are missing- check the BBC 6 link for an impartial review and do try and catch one of their gigs if you can.

I was 'into' the Undertones when they first came out when i was just starting to go to gigs (new wave \punk scsene) I saw most the bands but unfortunately didn't get to see the Undertones..

Then this year went with my missus and kids to the Guildfest, where they were playing and missed their set by ten minutes...Doh! Did see the stranglers and Madness there tho which was good.
