Are likely to be grave. Woolworth's were generally the only retailer where you could reliably get:

Freakishly big bars of Cadbury's Dairy Milk - anything up to 1Kg
Full range of Toblerones, including seasonal varieties
Many different variations of chocolate oranges, sometimes even chocolate lemons as well.
2 for 1 offers on Roses, Quality Street etc, in a range of boxes and sizes. (A crucial aid to the development of advanced mathematical skills)
Obscure but essential and sophisticated continental brands like Cote d'Or, Droste and Lindt.
Cadbury's Mis-Shapes, for the lower end of the market.

And that's before we even start to discuss the all time classic seared-into-the-conciousness-of-every-Briton Pick'n'Mix (although strictly speaking few of the options actually contained chocolate, except Cadbury eclairs, but you couldn't really have a bag of just those, you needed to space it out with peanut brittle and jelly fruits).

Any thoughts?

Don't give up hope yet. From reports on BBC news they have had 2 offers to buy the company and the government have said they will help out to make sure the stores stay open over christmas.

So your pick n mix is safe for now.

I do think whoever buys it though should reduce the price of pick n mix. well over priced in my opinion.

Forgot to mention: massive chocolate bargains from about noon on Easter Monday and at opening 27th December - mid January.

From a joke in the papers;

"Poor old Woolworths. We were window shopping there only last week."

Woolworths is under administration, not bankruptcy (yet).

Meaning it's under supervision until they find some funds or white knight to rescue the flogging retail shop.

It shouldn't be too hard to turn around.

Yes it's shite at the moment, but they're not too far away. They have the high street presence, they're pretty well loved too.

They just need to define their market along with selling seasonal items and have a half price/less than £1-2 aisle etc

Only ever go into Woolworths once a year, that is Easter Monday for half price or less Easter Eggs.
