I would have thought that she could have admitted to having been aware of the thread that her "husband" was contributing to last night. Or at least aware that her son was dragged out of bed in an attempt to back up claims.

Lol Scabby. Whilst I for one appreciate all the insight into all this about Tommy and Teen BB from his family. I have gone from believeing, to then being a bit sceptical about certain stuff to deciding to give Tommy's family the benefit of the doubt, as it isn't worth the aggro imho, as there was too much friction being caused on the forum over the matter,. Now you have opened a whole new can of worms.
I am now so confused about some of the stuff being posted it is getting so conflicting. I think I will give this thread a miss for a while now, it's doing my head in. 
perhaps she wasnt aware of it all, but dont you feel just a little bit sorry for weymel, he seems to have been made to go through a lot to prove who he is, and now he has quite the forum.
Tommy's mother has been posting on this forum as 'weychris' for several months, although has gone quiet in the last couple of weeks
weymel, weychris and Gareth all stated two or three weeks ago that they would not be posting on this forum again after some pretty minor questioning of their motives ( this was before the show aired )
So they do seem to threaten to leave when people question them
I hope they stick around

And who knows, we may get some solid inside info about Endemol's shenanigans, although it is difficult to know what ' proof ' they might provide except by asking us to take their word for it.

No it would be up to the newspapers to prove that their accusations were true - channel 4 would not have to prove that the accusations were not true

Big brother is a lot harder to accuse because its down to the way the programme is edited and the way the papers report on each contestant that has such a massive influence on voting patterns

Personally i do think the editing is very biased - for example i think endemol canvassed very hard for a girl winner in BB3 - i also think cameron got a very good edit although i am at a loss to explain why endemol would benefit from this.
I hope i haven't gone too off topic but the main thing that interests me in this thread is the fact that we have had some insider info (whether accurate or not) which does talk of manipulation by endemol.
However i cannot see the newspapers being interested in this because they would just say it was sour grapes from the family
Also newspapers sell a lot of copies based on the coverage of big brother so it will never be examined properly in the media, well certainly the tabloids.....

Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm almost certain that a newspaper could run this story without any recrimination if the story were reported 'as told' by one of the BB contestants, or a close family member. Else, this forum itself would be libellous, would it not?

Sure. Anyone who has watched the live feeds via the net or E4 would see that. There's no doubt in my mind that the editors of the previous BBs have shown a slanted version of edits in order to sway the public voting. But there is a difference in this case: weymel tells us that the contestants were told that they could not vote for Tommy & Jade. This is crucial to the whole crux of the show. Imagine if this had happened in the original format of BB.

I'm not so sure. It's not a Big Brother thing, anymore. It's about a television channel and programme producers 'fixing' a show. That's pretty big news, in my book.
This is why I struggle so. Why would C4 and Endemol risk their reputations over what was a second rate 'lite' version of their big money spinner, Big Brother? Would there really have been such an outcry had Jade or Tommy walked off with the prize? I think not.

It would only be libellous if it weren't true.
But yes, the burden of proof would be the civil burden (ie on the balance of probabilites) rather than the criminal burden (beyond etc etc)

Can I just say that I do think Yidaho makes a good point about the mum and Dad both appearing to post but saying almost opposite things.
I can't comment on what's true of course, as I haven't seen the putative mother's posts but it does seem rather wierd to me.
