I'm moving my Outlook email file from my old XP pc to my new Vista pc. On trying to paste the copied outlook.pst file within Explorer I get an error on Vista saying that the file is corrupt, reporting an error 0x80070570, and then not pasting the file.

I am using the same version of Outlook in both my XP and Vista machines (Office 2007) and as far as I can tell I have not had any troubles with my email in XP, suggesting the file is not corrupt.

I have also tried using several different memory devices to transfer the file from one pc to the other but I get the same error each time.

I have googled this error and it seems to be commonplace but I couldn't find any solutions for simple copy and pasting.

have you still got your original outlook on your pc still running and functional? may need to expoert it or something instead. or dodgy install....

never heard of it to be honest, but the code does sound like the tech "idiots" have heard of it.

Yep, still running fine on the old laptop, hence the surprise that Vista reckons the .pst fileis corrupt. As the screen on my XP laptop is on it's last legs I need to switch everything over to my new Vista laptop and would prefer to have my old email on it.
