Text Pests

I was reading another thread here with some people saying the send over 100texts per day or 1000's per month.

Surely they can't know that many people. Are these people not just pests, a lot of people surely don't want to receive loads of texts.

Do you know anybody who is an annoyance with text messages?

Its usually a case of sending texts to ones girlfriend(s) or boyfriend(s) but i preferred to talk in person than spending most of the relationship electronically, but then might that not be possible? a long distance relationship? then i accept but then 1000??? and is everyone of these 1000 text people in such situation? Its no business of mine so it doesn't bother me although im very curious.

Im on 300mins and 100texts and by past contracts pattern seems to me that I don't go past 50 unless its near Christmas or my Birthday. Back in my school years i went through about 150? I was by no means popular though so my count would be low as i image those with a large friends group might send more and i think its well know that girls tend to text like crazy.

My group of friends is maybe about 10-15 people that I text regularly. A lot of texting is flirting, a lot of texting is planning what to do that evening, lots of "I Love You", "No I love You more!" back and forth, I worked during the summer at a huge place with a high concentration of gay people and my texting took off like mad crazy. Also I have noticed a lot of arguments and fights, and snarky retorts are sent by text. Sending 1000 texts a month is average for my group of friends now, and receiving that plus some is becoming average.

I would say that people who text are more considerate than those who call. The person receiving the text can choose to respond at his or her leisure, as by definition texts are a non-urgent way of communicating.
Of course, there is always an exception, the person with delivery reports turned on, who gets upset without an immediate reply.

Once in a while I can sent just 80 text a month. Im on the 02 text anytime tariff and get 300 free text a month but will be getting 500 free text in December for toping up £20 in the last month. During Christmas and the New Year I have seem me now and again sending the same text twice to someone just incase first text dont arrive. I have been using 02 delivery repoerts for over a year and they seem to work 98%/99% or the time I find.

i've noticed some vod payg customers with their free weekend texts texting like a mentalist. the same people who during the week expect you to call them straight back to save their credit.

I never phone, I always text. I get through at least 3,000 a month. I do a lot of travelling so other than browsing the mobile internet and listening to my MP3 player I get quite bored. And I hate people who talk loudly on phones during journeys.
