I have a Samsung Series 4 32" LE32A436

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...V/Product.html

I am having a few problems...

Firstly, when playing my PS3, I press the info button and it says it is running at 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz.... however according to play.com and ebuyer where I bought it, the TV's resolution is 1366 x 768, so I don't understand why it's saying it's higher??

Another thing, with this apparently being a 1080i TV, I have been told to set my PS3 to only run at 720p - this correct? I just don't get why my TV is 1080i then if nothing will run in that higher mode???

Finally, how can I optimize my settings? Sure I can use my eyes to judge the screen, but is there anything I can do to make sure I am using the best settings?

I do have a setting called either 'Standard', 'Movie' and 'Dynamic' - I leave it on standard but get a very slight humming noise from the TV - this noise stops when on Dynamic but then the screen is too bright but better quality! Is the humming noise normal? You can only hear it if right up to the TV. But also the picture looks better in Dynamic, it's just too bright to watch lol

Any ideas???? Cheers.

Another thing, images from my digital camera look terrible on the tv when plugged in via a yellow video cable which is then plugged into a scart brick - how can I view images in high quality directly from my camera on the hdtv?

Presumably your TV doesn't have a slot for a camera memory card?.

You need to connect it via something that does, like a computer.

1080 would mean 1920x1080 which is full HD. Your set is only HD ready, so 720 would be the correct setting.

The yellow lead is composite which is the lowest quality.

I find Movie to be the best setting, set yours to Standard and alter the settings to your liking. Wouldn't recommend you do it in the other 'pre-set' modes otherwise you'll make a mess of them.

I'm sure someone at Samsung sat there for hours calibrating the TV to give the best picture for the pre-sets, you can buy special Discs to do it yourself though.

Image quality will depend what connections your camera has, you didn't say.

Then use your PS3 to view the photos through at HD resolution, at least that will give better quality than the composite video (yellow) cable output from the camera itself.
