Ancient Ipod!

Hi folks

General query for someone to answer hopefully.

I have recently had to purchase a new PC as my old one went renegade on me. While I was on my spending purge, I decided to buy a new Ipod also.

My problem is that I have almost 17GB worth of songs on my previous Ipod (a first generation Ipod thats 6 years old!). Not knowing that my PC was about to go tits up, I never backed up my previous Itunes library. Is there any way of transferring the files contained on my old Ipod to the new PC and version of Itunes?

I have most of the original CD's however I dont really want to go to the trouble of having to upload almost 10,000 songs again

Many thanks guys

First generation iPods only had max 10GB capacity. Just for the record

Officially you can't do it. However there are tools out there to do it. XPlay is one for Mac, but Google about and there will be a Windows equivalent.

My bad. The Ipod must not be as old as I thought!

I will see what Mr Google says.
