Agreed, you should see all the threads about Alesha V Jill on here. Now it looks like its Austins turn to be compared with her.

Never thought I would say that Jill would be out Pasoed but she was tonight.... wow Austin was wow! I loved it, I remember Jill's Paso and it thrilled me but Austin's Paso floored me.

In terms of the judges' comments he was, but then they went and overmarked him.

Have to say I still prefer Austin's over both Louisa's and Jill's, though they were good technically, and had more content, they didn't perform it as much as Austin, and in the Paso, I care much more about performance than technicality.

I liked both, but had Mark and karen done their paso later in the competition and not had that screw up with the capes at the start, i think his would have been the best ever.

The very first paso that I have enjoyed on SCD, half because of the music and half because it was Austin and Erin doing it...Bravo! it was the dance of the night for me

I must say to his detriment.

Isn't that what bullfighters do? Therefore Jill couldn't have very well said it.

It was even better because that came from Austin who has suffered from being slaughtered by the judges for his Latin, Jill was feted for both.

That was the best dance of any series for me, but I am an Austin stalker, so I'm biased! ”

No she wasn't actually. It was generally agreed at the time, and proved by the Judge's scores in the Final, that Denise Lewis's Ballroom was better of the 2. Though there has never been a better Latin dancer than Jill in any series. I wish ITT would feature her magnificent Cha Cha on occasion.

To answer the thread question, Austin did incredibly well, and deserves alot of praise, but the music helped him alot in the way it hindered Rachel's Paso and especially Christine's Tango tonight. However I wouldn't have awarded A&E a 10, as it was mostly shadow dancing with only minimal choreography in hold, so I would still have J&D's Paso ahead. Though I would also have Denise & Ian's and Aled & Lilia's from the semi-final of series 2 ahead aswell in the Paso stakes. Also Darren & Lilia in series 3 had content aswell as excellent presentation from a sportsman who'd never danced before.

Wow. Forgot how good Jill was.

Didn't like Austin's paso at all...but I do like him.

By far the most over-rated dance of this competition. It wouldn't have got anything near to '10' in a proper dance competition. The handing out of '10's is becoming farcical. I do like Austin but I'm liking Erin less and less, particularly the way she challenged Len.

Didn't see Jill's so I can't comment on which was better. Love the music though, Espana Cani IS paso to me.

I'm not sure what you mean about Erin challenging Len but I did notice Len ordering Erin to look at him. I like Len and generally respect his judgment, but the way he sometimes speaks to women is somewhat of a different era, thankfully!

as Austin and Erin did show dance to paso music hard to compare with any routine that is trying to be authentic

Jill & Darren's paso is far and away better. By about a trillion miles I estimate. The first thing that makes it better is that it was actually a paso. And the best bloody one ever on SCD. I can't see how the two can honestly be compared.

Austin's wasn't really a Paso, as it had little Paso content.

There is no contest , Jill's was far better and so was Mark's in series 4, also Darren's in Series 3 was much better and Aled's in series 2

However I do agree , it was entertaining and there hasn't been much to wow despite the many 10s which suggest there have been loads of wow factor dances

The only reason I compared them because they used the same music.

I think if that had been their showdance for the final (if he gets there) it would have been great - but I agree with Len there was NO content in it at all IMO

Funny, that. I've never liked Austin but LOVED his paso.

I don't think you could call Austin's dance a Paso it had no paso content. I did like his performance but it was not a paso.
