How tall is Matthew?

Problem if you have several tall girls, you won't have enough v tall men. Brendan is 6 1 so not exactly short, but Ian is about 6 5 isn't he? Jodie couldn't have danced with anyone else. Didn't realise Matt was much above 6 feet?

Yep, I think it was the best compromise, basically. But I do wish they would do something to increase the difference as I find it very offputting. And like I said, Brendan, who I don't even like actually, has my begrudging respect, as Lisa's improvement when given notes is very impressive.

He is fab with someone who suits him. But not so good with someone he doesn't gel with. They gel as people I guess.

Agree with the little heels thing -Erin has smaller heels apparently

I actually think despite these smaller heels, she's too tall for Austin, they pretty closely matched in terms of height. Erin normally gets the taller celebs too, so a bit of an odd pairing for her.

Likewise, Lisa is too tall for Brendan IMO, even if she's a good match for him in terms of personality, it's been quite obvious at times that there is not enough of a height difference. Matthew I believe is 6'2 so he would have been a better match.

Well he has - after their first or second dance. He stormed off. Lisa thought he was upset with her.

Another time he wasn't happy with their 8s - & the others told him to let her enjoy it. He said he didn't like coming second.

He's the most overtly competitive dancer with James Jordan. I don't actually mind competitiveness I have to say - but when that comes before looking after your partner - then it irritates me. I suppose it's his attitude to competition more than his competitiveness that's the issue.

I have always gotten the impression Lisa is scared of Brendan.

OK I conceed he had one on the very first week but the second one you quote is hardly a tantrum and to be honest to say you find it tiresome after just one instance is a bit OTT.

This year he's been exemplary in looking after Lisa and showcasing her - of course he want's to win, as I said before, they all do.

Matt & Lisa would have been great.”

Brendan would hardly be a professional competitor - and a very successful one at that - if he hadn't been competitive. All competitors are!!! And what tantrums? Can't say I've seen any this series at all. On the contrary, he just seems to have been very encouraging and supportive towards Lisa.

I agree Lisa may be an inch too tall for Brendan - a slightly lower heel would adjust that quite easily - but I think they've made a great partnership, and match each other really well. Love their dancing - HOPE THEY WIN!

Ian is 6' 4" and Matt is 6' 2". Jodie is 6' 2" in her bare feet so had to be paired with Ian. Christine would not have suited Brendan personality wise IMO. I don't mind the fact that Lisa is slightly taller than Brendan in heels, as it shows that it is possible to dance well with someone slightly smaller than yourself

I think Brendan has been the best partner for Lisa, he has done a tremendous job bringing her on from looking somewhat clumsy on the dancefloor to what we see now. I am not sure that either Matthew or Ian would have been able to achieve the same with her. Brendan seems to have mellowed this year, maybe that has helped. Whatever it is, it's worked and worked well I think.

I think the problem was the producers went on height and just went oh Jodie's the tallest, give her to Ian. But Lisa actually has longer legs than Jodie, Jodie was tall through the body too.

Lisa's legs are just so much longer than Brendan's that they just can't get their hips aligned in hold. It's also making it more difficult, from my perspective, for him to guide her with his body and that's why they're getting so much gapping. The gapping wasn't as bad as in previous weeks, but it was still there.

Lisa doesn't need a taller partner....what she needs is less 'I love me who do you love', gushing at the judges, and gurning into the camera at every possible opportunity....then perhaps she would be a worthy winner

Yeah but Jodie would have towered over Brendan and Matthew. She could never have been paired with anyone other than Ian and she was nearly as tall as him in heels.

How tall is Lisa? About 5'10 at a guess?

I am a huge Brendan fan and posted at the beginning that she was too tall for him and could wear lower heels (though not so elegant). I said that they could do everything perfectly and dance their socks off but would never look good together. However, pairing with Matthew, though I like him, wouldn't have been such a good thing. Last night I felt he let Christine down badly. We are experienced dancers in my house and at first we couldn't recognise that they were doing a tango. No stoccato movements with the head. If she was doing it, it couldn't be seen because she had a lovely flowing mane. I really think Matthew could have done more with Christine last night.

Yes, not one of Mat's more inspirational nights - apart from the tango, the salsa routine was dreadful in places, almost ugly.

If Lisa had been with Matt i bet she'd be one of the favourites to win. Shes reminds me a tiny bit of Alesha in some ways.
However i do think Matt and Christine suited each other personality wise and i cannot imagine her clicking with Brendan.

All the pros are successful competitors - but Brendan & James are the ones whose overt competition affects their characters the most, that's all. Matt, Darren & Ian are more laid back.

Brendan's been a lot better behaved this year - & I'm impressed with the work he's done on Lisa.
