Well, you'll have to explain me out of my dance ignorance here. I'm not a dancer, but I have lived in Spain, and watched all too many bullfights and displays of dancing there. My understanding is that Paso IS effectively a show-dance, since the very formalised moves are never danced socially or sponstaneously, in the way of a waltz or QS or any of the ballroom or other Latin dances. More importantly, what are the formal requirements of the Paso Erin left out? Because I have to say, having seen it danced in its original form in the bullrings that looked the most authentic, down to the formalised gestures, I have ever seen on Strictly.

Me and hubby totally disagree - we think they want Lisa as their winner and are doing everything they can to get it

Nice to see others were thinking along the same lines as we are in my abode.

And I assume you are a Tom supporter?

That's what I'd like to know. I have seen post after post dismissing Austin's paso on the grounds of 'no content', yet none have specified what content was omitted. I'm assuming the posters know what they're talking about, so it would be interesting to be given a clue.

Len wants people to come out and do traditional dances, to traditional music with no messing about at the start. The trouble is, they would have to rename the programme Come Dancing - or in our household Gently Snoring.

Arlene, Craig and Bruno have worked in the commercial world and they understand the importance of performance and drama. For a rugby player to come and and deliver that last night was brilliant!

Austin and Erin's performance was THRILLING - so much so that I voted for them for the first time last night.

Len is driving me nuts - he has a go at Craig for being negative but it is OK for him. And his constant references to ladies knickers on a family show just makes him out to be a dirty old man. I used to really like him because he was like a favourite uncle figure. No more.

It didn't even deserve an 8 IMO.

I`m surprised he marks so highly on DWTS tbh. He appears to hold SCD on a different level.

Having just watched this on You Tube I can see exactly why Len marked as he did For Austin & Erin's flamenco. I was just waiting for the castanets to start.

The marking did seem to be all over the place, with Christine over marked if anything at least compared to the other dancers & I suspect Tom will not be that pleased with his 10 as it was more of a favour by Len perhaps compensating for Craig rather than really deserved.

To be honest, I thought Craig only gave a 7 to counterbalance the fact that Len had made it very obvious he was going to give a 10 to a dance that didn't deserve it. I would've done the same. It was ridiculous for Len to list stuff that was wrong with the dance, then say 'but I'll ignore it'. I mean the 10s don't mean much anyway, but I'm sure Tom won't be happy with a sympathy 10.

I think as a rule though that Tom gets marked down...his dances have been consistent, and lots of them have been better than some of Rachels and Austins!!!

Paso Doble
Paso Doble is a representation of a 'Bullfight', where traditionally the male dancer takes on the role of the Matador (the bullfighter) and the partner takes on the role of his cape.

Synonymous with Spanish culture, the Paso Doble is a traditional folk dance, that is more commonly performed as a competition or exhibition dance, rather than a social dance.

The name 'Paso Doble' in Spanish means 'two step'. The 'two step' refers to the marching nature of the steps, and the dance is recognisable by its dramatic poses that usually mirror highlights in the music.
