What happenes if he's up against Rachel- they will all protect Rachel of course
They wouldn't be protecting Rachel - she happened to dance better than Tom.

I think Rachel is a better dancer than Tom so if they end up in the bottom two together she deserves to stay.

The only person who has been protected is Austin.

Hmmm....I need to watch Lisa's foxtrot again but I don't remember seeing a single heel lead on any of the forward steps we saw. If that really was the case she didn't deserve her marks.

Well IMO (for what its worth!!) I 've thought for the last couple of weeks that the judges have been making sure that Rachel stays in. Tonight I think Lisa was brilliant and deserves to stay, along with Tom, Austin. and Rachel. My favourite is Lisa. I really think that although Christine tried her hardest tonight, that she was the weakest dancer and should leave.
However, Tess probably got her trillions of votes by saying 'well you are the underdog, Christine'
If Christine is in the dance off then she will go but if she isnt then one of the better ones will, sadly, be going.
IMO- I agree with most of what you say and this week they have still more or less secured a place for Rachel even if she is in the dance off- she got 39 and only Lisa matched that so against the boys she's safe.

I thought Lisa was wonderful tonight and so was Austin but I was surprised with the marks for Tom- why pick up on faults now that he has had for a while.

We'll see what happens after that!

I voted to save Tom as even though I couldn't appreciate the technical know-how of his performances I thought he was really good and much better than Rachel's paso which looked too soft to mine. Hearing Len's comments on Austin's paso I understand some people's anger the judges comments for the first time - I said eff you and dived for the phone to vote for Austin - luckily I didn't have to flip the V Len as the other judges effectively did it for me

To be fair, the 10 only balanced out the undermarked 7 IMO.

But if everyone makes minor mistakes during a 10 dance, why does Len select Tom's dance to point that out. Either he should've awarded a 9; kept his mouth shut about the 'small' mistake or label every single minor mistake that a couple makes before giving a 10. By saying that he knew there was mistakes and then dolling out a 10, it seems like he was singling out Tom - I'd say unfairly because it may affect his subsequent public vote.
He mentioned it in reply to Tom's VT - and when he made that comment i doubt (and much against forum norm, i do not believe in any conspirancy theory or thought of judges pre-deciding their scores) that Len knew of Craig's 7.

Believe me, I want Tom to win, but i am also realistic and can admit when others were better. However, I would guess that Len's comments would give Tom more votes - the public seem to like the 'criticised one' after all

I'm not a Lisa fan - but she earned every mark she received tonight.

I think perhaps Austin was awarded marks for 'olays'. (now where is the 'the shakes head smiley.')
It's their marking of Austin's Latin that makes me absolutely furious and as for Erin's arrogance.

Strictly conspiracy theories are a bit like God theories...they can't all be right...and none of them seem to have clearly more validity than the others...so you end up thinking are any of them right?

How is Erin arrogant? I see no arrogance from her at all? Actually with the exception of Brendan- none of the dancers left are arrogant.

Tom's waltz just wasn't very good...even a techie numpty like me saw when he pivoted his posture/bottom problem. Therefore if anything he was overmarked.

I don't think there's any conspiracy either. Craig's '7' for Tom was harsh and then to give '10' to Austin for strutting round the floor. His dance may have been a crowd pleaser but it wasn't great.

Depending on how they dance in the dance off. B ut if they perform both dances as they did them in the show then yes Rachel will stay. because I agree with the judges that over all Rachel was better than Tom. That's what they are supposed to do.

I do however think that the Christine should be in the dance off and if she is not who ever is in the dance off and gets knocked out will be IMO upsetting. If it is Tom it's harsh but That is the way stricly goes. I would think the same is my fav ends up and goes out. I will be furious but not lodge a complaint. That the show! arguing with the public vote is stupid.

She questioned Len's criticism. I call that arrogance from someone who's not that hot at Latin. Brendan has not shown any arrogance this series.

Despite some of the individual quirky marks, I would have placed everyone in much the same position as the judges this week. That's not to say I want Tom to go. I don't, and in any case I think he has a high enough vote to get through.

And that is wrong for the judges to behave the way they have- they may as well just sit down beforehand and say- right we'll have so and so here.

If Tom goes out with their messing around I will be lodging a formal complaint againsyt the whole shower of them

But Tom's about right in the leaderboard, will you be complaining about the 10 he got, even after Len admitted to seeing faults then?

You must find most of us DS posters arrogant, then.

Oh, I agree that Len wouldn't have known of Craig's 7. But when the totals came out, I'd have said it just about evened itself out. I thought the dance'd get (and deserved) four 9s - so 36, and Tom got 35 for it.

Personal opinion, I didn't think Lisa's latin was better than Tom's latin.

As for the criticism...maybe. But I wonder whether Tom getting an 'undeserved' 10 and Len almost admitting he was giving it out of sympathy may go against, rather than for him.

I seriousley doubt they want to get rid of Tom... more like Christine.

But it was blatant they were trying to protect Lisa. I thought her cha cha was mediocre.
I think they had been told to be nice to Lisa this week.
