Granted, you may not like the performance. But she did the best cha-cha, technique-wise, in this series.

Let's agree to disagree.

In fairness, the "small" mistake was pretty obvious, even to a complete non expert like me. Particularly in his pivots.

I don't understand why Camilla made Tom do the pivots TWICE, seeing she knew he stuck his bottom out doing it. Last week's Tango was the same (though the judges were mum about it). Mad on Camilla's part, I reckon. Tom did an emotive dance. No more silly 'smug' or 'Tomapasta' face, he did a very moving Waltz. I applaud him for that.

Yes, VERY true - well done Tom for clamping down on the gurning (it was less in evidence last week too) which I know was offputting for a lot of people (myself included). I still find something undefinably camp about his dances, but the last few weeks I have enjoyed them an awful lot more. I think Camilla has managed to take the focus off herself a bit, a bad habit of hers; it's putting Tom in a much better position to prove he's good at it.

He's a little TOO bendy, I think, for the latin, so it came across camp like a row of tents (to quote Bruno!).

I haven't read the rest of the thread as I agree with this post.

Lisa still hasn't mastered moving smoothly from one part of the dance to the other and if you watch it again, look at how sharp Brendan's arm movements are and how weak Lisa's are - to say her Cha Cha was anything like one of the best is ridiculous.

Her foxtrot was good though.

Was on here last night and everyone was commenting on how the judges were preparing to mark Lisa up this week.
This was based on comments made on ITT. This forum was full of it last night !!!!

Now I only see ITT a couple of times a week so I can't say whether they were or were not favouring Lisa before she even danced...so I thought ..lets wait and see...

Low and behold ..what happens.. Lisa is top of the leaderboard and, I don't care what anyone says, that cha cha cha was NOT good.

Austin is king of the ballroom, much better than Lisa or Rachael.
The girls' dresses are too long and their feet can't be seen. They could be doing allsorts under there. I was particularly watching Rachael's feet (suspecting overmarking) and I couldn't see them.

Austin's paso was not good but no worse than Lisa's cha cha so how come she was top of the board ???

Personally I smell a rat and it don't half pong !!!

You are the clever one tonight. You saw how the long dress kept people watching her feet (even though the dress obscured them) qnd kept eyes away from the gapping in the middle

How many more times tonight are you going to post this?!

I agree. So why give him a 10 if he's going to point out the error? Especially as he goes on to say no dance is perfect...well why not single out the mistakes everyone else makes too, instead of just picking on Tom?

Karen said on ITT last year Len can generally tell if your footwork is correct by looking at your top line, he would only be looking at the feet to doublecheck.

I love this comment that she "questioned Len's criticism" - what actually happened was Len criticised their dance and Erin said "Ooohhh". Wow, you couldn't get more arrogant could you?

Yes we all noticed it. It was obvious they were gearing up to vote her up.

I had a look and see what you mean.

Not being an expert (in the professional sense) I look at the feet, lines/posture and performance in that order.

The judges, at this stage, should take everything into account and "judge" accordingly IMO and not show any favouritism. None of the dancers are perfect, nor are they likely to be.

At this time I think Tom is the better "all round" dancer.
Others can ballroom better but not many can latin better.
He is quite good at both IMO

Well I suppose I have to bow to Len's superior knowledge in this matter.
Do they get away with the long dresses in major competitions ?

I don't care what anyone says - it was good - very good.

Disagree - imo Austin has been overmarked and overhyped since week 1.

I agree - the dresses should expose the feet - if only to put the doubters minds to rest.

Austin's paso was laughable - it was all I could do not to choke.

With different choreography he might have delivered - we'll never know.

Well Ignazio I suppose we will just have to disagree about Lisa's cha cha cha but I think she is just not a good latin dancer...she is so tall and comes across as gangly and awkward.
Agree that Austin was not good but just like Lisa he will never be a latin dancer. Neither can "let themselves go" imo.
In Austin's case I think the raunchy, smouldering latin doesn't sit well with him.....it sort of makes him feel like he's being unfaithful.

Well that's how it comes across to me LOL

I thought Rachels waltz was stunning but the only thing that annoyed me is Lens comment about giving her a 10 even though he couldnt see her footwork. Hes always marking people down for there footwork so i just thought that was a bit unfair that he told rachel he was going to give her a 10 regardless, and the same with Tom.
I hope when rachel does her next ballroom dance her feet are visible.

As are all her dances. Overrated and overmarked imo.
