Best Show in Memory?
mr.bojangles

Apart from the finals, for me, this was one of the best shows I can remember. Rachel's waltz had me tingling and a lump in my throat, Lisa's foxtrot was sublime, as was Austin's waltz (all absolutely fantastic music choices too!) and a pretty great performance from Tom too. Also I found Rachel's paso pretty exciting (esp the start), a proper Cha cha cha, and Austin's paso, which was very entertaining (if not exactly entirely a paso!), and again not to leave out one of the best sambas this series, and another super charming routine from Christine & Matthew.

Plus a bit of humour amongst the judges, a few decent "jokes" from Brucie. Not to mention some of the best dresses we've seen.

I feel like I'm babbling, it was so good!

Really, I want to go back and savour the experience all over again. Roll on iplayer.

Let's put those "end of SCD" comments to bed.

It wasn't the best SCD show ever but it was alright.... there was a lot of overmarking....

I don't agree. Some of the music choices were just wrong (The Final Countdown)
Rachel's Waltz was too disjointed.
Lisa's Cha Cha was too slow.

Been very average dances....no wow factor.......very little audience standing ovations after a performance......except Austins tonight.....good showman ship.

Other than that......some way over marked, were quite boring......

Average dances - agree.
Austin's paso - good showmanship - agree.
Overmarking (Austin) - agree.
Wow factor - much to my surprise, Lisa and Brendan; followed - again surprisingly - by Rachel and Vincent.

And hello my friend.

The only thing that really stood out for me was Austin's Paso, the rest of it was at best, average to be honest.

Hello you....how is ya ?

I find Lisa slow routines very repetitive and boring now.
Rachel is doing the same thing.....slow slow slow.
Even Austin and Tom are doing more things differently.
I think thats why the public are not behind Lisa....yawn:yawn:

And I completely disagree! Lisa and Brendan were very blah for me, their foxtrot still had gapping and there were timing issues at the beginning for me and her cha cha was so pedestrian. I am so fed up of Lisa walking through all of her dances, her QS was slow, her latins have all been slow!

Rachel and Vincent's waltz was lovely, her paso was hilarious.

Christine tried.

Tom's waltz was lovely but not worth a 10, but I'm glad he got one.

Austin was AMAZING. His foxtrot was much better than Lisa's imo and his paso was unbelievable. That is the standout dance of the series for me by a mile. It made me burst into tears.

But that was without doubt one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Really average programme with Tom getting a 10 just to stop him whinging - and then he only got it because Len decided to ignore mistakes! Hopefully that will shut him up and he can concentrate on dancing (which he is good at). If it hadn't been for Austin and that paso which has finally livened the series back up since the loss of JS!

I think I`am in the minority.....but I agree with the op.....I thought it was a great show.....possibly one of the best....I personally could`t give a toss whether they were over or under marked because at this stage of the competition if your in the bottom 2 your not going to win.

Well, actually, way back to SCD1. Perhaps my memory has withered with time.

But for me, I'm not sure when I can last remember a final five of such quality, over-marking and undermarking claims or otherwise.

Last year for me was hampered by Kenny's overwelcome presence, plus as enjoyable as Letitia was, she wasn't as good as these guys.

In terms of the standard of dance, I really don't think we've had it much better.

Agreed there are some shows I adore for particular dances, but in terms of a generally high standard across all the couples, I don't think it's been this good at this stage of the competition. For me, this was one of the most enjoyable and tense shows since the latter stages of SCD4.

To refresh your memory, Austin didn't do a Waltz but a Foxtrot last night.

Also, I liked Lisa's cha-cha. Not sure why she was so slated here?

Plus, one word to describe Austin's Paso - Testosterone!

I very much enjoyed the quarter final last year. Thought Alesha and Gethin danced out of their socks, Letitia was charming and go her highest mark of the series and then there was the drama of Matt Di's meltdown!

That was good Strictly.

Last night was too bizarre. (Yes judges, I'm looking at you.)

I should have said......"if your in the bottom 2 after the public vote"
I still think the top 4 are the best core group of potential finalists we`v ever had on SCD......plus I`v loved Christine and Jodie as well....so even the lesser dancers have entertained me.....That said I was bored ridged for the first 6wks of this series......way tooooo much dead wood.

You see how carried away I was! I think I was getting mixed up with Tom... Silly boy.
