hi home cinema system (lg) model LH-C6235 keeps turning off this is a 5.1 system is it possible to buy a dvd player that will accept the speakers and sub thanks in advance for any input

Yes, you can buy another one of those.

But all such systems seem to come with their own sets of speakers if you want to change brand.

Far better to upgrade to a proper separates system. DVD player, AV Amp or Receiver & new speakers.

I doubt the LG ones would be of sufficient quality, if you take this route - but hey - if they're able to handle the power output of the replacement amp/receiver you can try.

Is the subwoofer individually powered - or is it driven by the amp in the LG?
