I wanted to wait to see it again just to make sure I was right, and I was. The dances are up on the Strictly site.
Look again at Rachel's waltz and tell me it deserved 39 with the huge gap between them. Most noticeable when they are in front of the stairs and you can see the lights but the gap is there for most of the dance.

Tell us again she's not the teachers' pet. Just because they've got another this week.

So she's place 3rd (just ahead of 4th) out of 5...and Rachel is still 'teachers' pet'.

Come on...this is very lame indeed...even by the standards of this forum.

OH Phulese!

At the steps? That's the beginning, and they are allowed to dance 'out of hold', and it's alright to have gapping there.

Please, this outright nonsensical Rachel bashing has to stop. It's getting tiresome.

I thought her waltz was gorgeous. I didnt notice any gapping but then i've always been more interested in the performance side of the dances anyway.

I said stairs, not steps and it was in hold. Plain to see if you look but then there's none so blind... That's what's pathetic.:yawn::yawn:

There was some gapping in Rachel's waltz, I wouldn't say it was 'major'.

But I did find the routine itself a bit boring .... in fact a lot of it seemed like a variation on her foxtrot of last week - same lines anyway. Also, like the foxtrot it was far too static, it is very easy to dance tiny steps, but it isn't correct. Compare it, for example, to Tom's waltz which really flowed around the floor as a waltz should do.

There was a little gapping in Rachel's waltz, but not that much.
Ok, so it was only when they were in hold. Not for all that faffing around at the beginning. Her head on Vincent's shoulder - bless, so strange, so unique *bleuch bleuch bleuch*

Her waltz actually made me pick up the phone & vote for her (made me tingle like Barbara Streisand singing "People").

Rachel and Vincent's waltz wa staggeringly beautiful. Tender, understated, techinically masterful and moving. IMHO of course. Sick of the Rachel bashing now. She's third in the leader board - give her a break.

I do wish Rachel's dress had been an inch or so shorter. It would have been in her own interests, we could have made a genuine judgement on her feet.

Personally I found their waltz enchanting - but nothing should be left to chance, nothing available for her critics to scream 'unfair.'

A lesson to be learned perhaps?

I agree that dress which completely disguised her footwork should not have been allowed.

There was minor gapping in her waltz, now I've watched it again. Also her fingers were splayed on Vincent's shoulder. For some reason, I always look to see if the fingers are together in hold.

It was beautiful though.

If I were really visually impaired, I would have thought your claim of MAJOR gapping would be you can drive a truckload through them. What a load of t*sh! Granted her Paso was weak tonight. But she did a fantastic Waltz. Not sure what you are on about. And I am not Rachel's fan, thank you very much. I haven't voted for her thus far but I like her improvement. You are obviously pig-determined to dislike her, and that's fine by me. G-night.

G a, I couldn't sleep and started watching the SCD main programme again in my computer.

I have seen Rachel's Waltz twice. That little bit of gapping here and there and you call that major? Have you seen Gethin's Waltz? Alesha's Waltz? Matt DA Waltz? All of them scored 39 and more, and even so there were some slight (very slight in places) gapping in their routines. Len spotted Gethin's mistakes in his footwork but he publicly announced he'll ignore it and gave him a 10 (like he did with Tom, both had Camilla as the pro partner strangely enough).

It was major enough to mean it did not deserve a score of 39. It was worse than the gapping in Lisa's VW last week - which the judges pointed out and marked her down for.

It was much worse than the tiny bits of gapping in any of the dances you mention SCD Observer. I can see right between them to the stairs, can see the lines of the lights. If I knew how I'd do a screencap to demonstrate but I doubt it would make any difference.

Didn't L&B do the QS last week?
