Dances for week 12...spoiler result included!

So next week's dances are:

Austin - AS and Salsa
Lisa - Waltz and Jive
Rachel - Tango and Cha cha
Tom - Foxtrot and Rumba

Thinking about everyone's chances...

Austin - No worries about the AS. Erin will no doubt do a great routine and he's very strong so the lifts shouldn't be a problem. The salsa will be a tale of two halves - he won't have any problem with his quick feet but he'll likely find the upper body fluidity hard due to his physique.

Lisa - Waltz should be a doddle for her after the foxtrot. The jive may be a sticking point due to her height. She didn't exactly set the world alight with her samba due to similar issues it seems.

Rachel - The paso didn't bode well for the tango. She was okay in the performance but clearly not feeling it. Technically she'll likely be good though. Hard to tell with her cha cha as she hasn't done a more upbeat Latin like that in a while.

Tom - The foxtrot should be good for him although some of the problems with the waltz tonight may transfer over. It is a harder dance after all. The rumba is a the bane of all male strictly celebs (apart from Colin) so he's saved one of the hardest for last. He does have a good dancer's body though and if anyone can pull it off I think he can.

Vote wise, Austin and Tom seem safer as they have both been lower down the board and survived. If one of the girls isn't in first place I suspect we'll see them going head to head in the dance off.

Hmm from that I'd say Austin will walk through.
Lisa will have problems with the jive
Rachel with the Cha Cha &
Tom with the Rumba.

It depends purely on who pulls it off on the night.

I have been living for Tom's Rumba! Trust me, it will be AMAZING!

Hopefully Lisa will crash and burn with her Jive.

Hope Rachel and Austin do well.

The thing is that with two dances in a week, you can have one great one and one naff one but get through in the dance off because you do your best one there.

So, if you're consistent at both dances, you are at more of a disadvantage than someone who was patchy.

I'd say Tom was most at risk. Let's see how manages the rumba. It is Camilla's favourite dance and she's never had a partner who has had quite the technical ability of Tom so who knows? He may really nail it or we may be watching through splayed fingers.

i agree with pritty much your whole analysis Claire.
Id love to see Tom do a great rhumba though, he does have good hip action but i do think a lot of it will depend on Camillas choreography.

Wether Rachel and Lisa do well will depend on there latin dance IMO the cha cha and jive could go either way for them. I think Rachels tango wil be OK as she'll be in hold a lot.

Getting worried already for Rachel for next week!

This is not good for my heart.

Has anybody considered what dances will be done in the semi final if both the outstanding dances are done in the quarters next week? In the last 2 series the last outstanding dance and the Argentine tango were danced in the semi. As there are more weeks this year, they will have run out of dances.

Any guesses? Will they bring in a new dance (? mambo ?swing dance) common to all competitors (? next week or the week after) or will a dance be repeated in the semi.

There are rumours that next week will be one leftover dance and either the Argentinian Tango or the Mambo, and the next week will be the other remaining dance plus the Argentinian Tango or the Mambo, but I'm not sure whether the rumours are true or not.

I had heard rumours at the start of the series of the Mambo being added to the dance list too.

Austin - AS and Salsa
Lisa - Waltz and Jive
Rachel - Tango and Cha cha
Tom - Foxtrot and Rumba

Hmm, I think Tom's got problems, neither dance is high impact, but I think his fan base is big enough to see him safe, and mere words cannot express how much I don't want to see Tom's rumba face

Lisa - waltz should be good, jive I can see her having problems with

Rachel - Not sure, she's not so good with aggresive dances so the tango might be a problem, and I can see Vincent over choreographing the cha cha

Austin - AS should be fab, and it's a high impact dance that Erin should choregraph well, potential problems with the salsa, but if Erin stays away from the complicated arm movements it should be fine, plus I think he's got the fan base to get through

Austin should be fine with the Smooth and will probably score high with his Salsa...whether it looks like a Salsa or not

Lisa's Waltz should be a blinder but I think she'll struggle with the Jive

Rachel is going to find both her dances tough next week

Tom could soar or plummet, I'm really not sure which...

Sticking my neck out I think Rachel will be leaving next week...

Lisa will strugle with the Jive
Rachel will struggle with the Tango.
Tom's Rumba will be awful and disgusting and I may have to hide behind the cushion.
Austin will excel in both his dances and be top of the leaderboard!

Argentinian Tango is usually when it's the final three couples. That should be next week.

I think Tom will walk it, he is made for the rumba and I don't like him!

Austin will walk through if the judges, apart from Len, continue to mark him on performance alone. He's short and Erin isn't so I see problems ahead with the arm movements given the stiffness of his upper body.

I expect a good rumba from Tom, and I'm sure Camilla will correct his protruding backside. Craig's marking was unfair, which disappointed me.

Lisa is unlikely to nail the Jive but Rachel's Cha cha cha could be good if Vincent takes criticism on board and showcases his celebrity rather than himself.

Dance off will probably be the two girls.

I would love it to be the AT next week so Vincent can choreograph an amazing routine.
