Britney - overhyped letdown
After the weeks of hype, exclusive performance, first in 5 years in the UK, Dermot pinching himself with excitement, "I can't believe I'm saying this but here's Britney!", etc etc, it was a damp squib.
A dull, mimed performance and 3 cliched sentences from Britney at the end. What was she on for, 5 mins in total? Not even a comment from Cowell after the performance. Miley Cyrus was miles ahead of Britney tonight, I actually enjoyed her performance. |

It was terrible.
She mimed it unconvincingly and doesn't deserve her comeback to be a success. Overpaid and overhyped. Sorry Britney, you were great the first time round but since your comeback, your rubbish. I bet Simon would be stuck for things to say if he'd been asked to comment. |

Talentless trollop who lives in the shadow of her school uniform to this day. Trailer trash.

Don't you understand?
This is her best comeback since the one she had a few weeks back. |

It was an anti-climax. Overhyped that didn't live up to my expectation.

Think Britney should try something else - don't know what exactly.
Never seen that Miley before but she was pretty good. |

Terrible, terrible miming.
If her mic was live why did Dermot have to use his mic to pick up her non-sensical answers to his inane questions? |

I yawned my way through Mileys performance, it was pretty boring. Now Britney, considering everything shes been through lately, I was still impressed with her. Bit more polish on the dance moves will see her ready for her tour next year.

*sigh*
Even though nobody seems to be listening. Technically by definition she did not mime! She used a CD-backing track! It happens all the time! ![]() Furthermore, music artists today make almost all their money by being on tour and appearances, not by single sales, hence why 80% almost always mime when on TV, it saves money and promotes the actual track. Welcome to the digital-age folks. |

The miming "issue" should not be an issue as all the best artists have mimed over the years including The Beatles.
BUT, Britney Spears is not a legend. The hype was so over the top, typical of the X Factor. |

What did you expect though? Sing live and dance? I think it's silly comparing her to Miley. Miley is only starting her career. Britney was amazing when she first started too. She is only getting back into it now.

Everything she has been through lately? That was pretty much all her fault.
Britney's past it. All hail Miley the new Princess of Pop. Seriously folks, put down the chavy "hello" magazines and live in the real world. I am concerned for her, but what happens in her personal life doesn't cloud my judgment of her as a professional. As for Miley, whatever, nobody even knew who she was, she wasnt even there tonight, that performance was pre-recorded (which to be honest is more "taboo" than Britney using a backing track) |

Britney's never sung live. Let's face it she ain't a singer. But
at those saying she should try another career. Her new album will sell millions. She's a manufactured pop product, but a pretty damn successful one.
