O2 Returns suck
eddieh

My O2 XDA Orbit 2 touch screen was playing up so I emailed them and they asked me to send it to a certain address which is fair enough.

After I did this, a couple of weeks later I haven't yet been updated on the process so I got worried whether Royal Mail losted it as I didn't get Proof of postage.

At first they said after I emailed them that they didn't recivied it yet but luckyly acouple days later they said my phone would be back within 3 days by DPD. I haven't yet got given either a tracking link or my phone and 8 days has passed since that email. Wondering if anybody been as unlucky as me?

Why e-mail them? You are MUCH better speaking to someone and taking their name if a problem arises.

All my returns I have always rang and they have had a new phone out to me within the week and mots times next day with the swap-it courier service.

Rather than doing this stuff yourself I usually find it better to go into an O2 shop and get them to send it back, they should give you a loan phone as well. If there is any problems go back to the shop, cause a scene ask to see the manager and stuff usually happens pretty quickly. Managers don't like confrontation.

Depends if purchased over the internet. If it was the shop won't touch it as it is only a franchise of O2.

I purchased my T-Mobile over the internet and I took it into the shop. It shouldn't cost the shop anything anyway, it should be covered under manufacturers warranty if it is under a year old. And if it isn't they will ask you to pay the repair costs. Maybe O2 is different, haven't had to deal with O2.

My local o2 shop did return my broken phone for repairing last year. Also when my new phone was supplied with a part missing this year, o2's on-line c/s advised me to pick up the part from the local shop and HQ would credit the price to me via my phone bill.

Thanks for the response. I knew I should of really took it to a store but I don't have much time and I can't drive yet. I had some good news that they managed to find it in the warehouse and that the repairs haven't been done yet. I should get in it in 28 days time but it still doesn't stop it annoying me.

28 days is far to long to make a repair and return it to you

When my Xbox360 failed , it was collect on Monday and returned 7 days later , having travelled from Yorkshire to Germany and back , it spent half of the time in Transit

Assuming you have not been given a spare replacement phone , the least you require is 1 months credit on your contract or a replacement PDQ

I think I misread it anyway as it say within 28 days and it probably be quicker however they are still taking the michael the amount of time it taking to repair it.
