Query about Ipods???
I am thinking of getting one, never been that much into them and also my brothere and most of my cousins have one the reason i want one is that ipods have big storage space to store many songs on them then a Sony Mp3, and my music collection is huge - so i am thinking of getting a Ipod classic either 120GB or 160GB
But the only thing i dont get is do we still need to keep songs on the PC once downloaded onto the ipod? coz my brother and cousins still keep their songs on their laptop/pc, and i dont want that so it takes space up on pc, once its downloaded on the ipod i want to delete it off my pc |

if you do delete the music from your computer make sure that itunes isn't set to automatically sync what it has to your ipod otherwise it will delete the songs on the ipod and replace them with nothingness. so, tick manually manage music. also keep in mind, that there is no native mechanism for transferring your music back from ipod to a computer (although there are some other ways of doing this with some other software). ps the classic is now only being produced as 120GB. |

Yup.
Either use iTunes or find yourself an alternative music manager to sync it (the wife uses Mediamonkey with hers .... iTunes for Windows is a POS in my opinion .... and hers). No drag and drop on iPods .... (Well, you can, but it won't actually play any tracks you drop on it .... it'll only store them) |

Already downloaded itunes, managed to set to manually, so do i just drop the song on the music list on itunes then sync it on the ipod?

As far as I know, that should do the trick.
Not an iPod user myself (too restrictive for my liking) but from what I've seen of the wife suffering through iTunes before ditching it, that sounds about right. |

I would recommend keeping your songs on your computer. The iPod can go wrong. You should really look into syncing. It makes life a lot easier. If you don't want all the music then just create a playlist and just sync the playlist to the iPod.
