Since the start of the week I've been unable to send texts ('Error Sending Message') or receive calls (the person trying to call me gets 'The number you have dialed has not been recognised' or some high pitched tones). O2 have suggested trying the SIM in another phone (no change), resetting/restoring the phone and gave me a new SIM. Nothing has worked.

They've now suggested I go to the Apple store to get them to repair it or give me a new phone. But since my SIM has the same issues on another phone this seems unlikely to work! Also, a handset problem would surely lead to a caller getting redirected to voicemail - this to me sounds like a problem at O2's end, but they won't look into this.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be going on, and perhaps a solution? At the moment I'll go to the Apple Store and see if they'll be able to make some sense of the issue, but I'm not sure how they can fix a problem which the signs point to being O2's!

They will be a lot more helpful at the Apple Store and may end up giving you a new phone. Best off booking an appointment with a Genius on the Apple site before you go to avoid queues. It is free of charge and they treat you like a king lol.

As you said it is either a network problem or a SIM card problem. You say they have given you a replacement SIM card and it still doesn't work? Very strange. Maybe there is a problem with a cell tower in your area, although surely they would be aware of that and tell you.
