Are you sure the rear speakers are not giving out *any* sound? From broadcast TV using Pro-Logic the level will be comparitively low and subtle.

what mode are you listening too?

is it stereo or 2.1 for example

and is it the SC as opposed to SA ?

http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/870953/index.html

on page 31 it tells you how to use Pro Logic which will switch on the rear speakers with a stereo source

to get Dolby Digital from Sky box you will need an optical cable from sky to surround player

Strangely enough I emailed Panasonic yesterday on exactly this issue. I relplaced an aging JVC with this Panasonic and find the the ProLogic separation is not as great as I expected. I also find the even with reducing the centre volume by -6db and increasing the rear by +6db there is little difference and seperation of sound.

I am using the same input source as before and find that the digital input is slighly better than analogue - but not enough to warrant the loss in functions of Viera Link

If Panasonic come back I will post the results here - but don't hold your breath
