Hi All, I was considering going fro the Sony KDL-52W4000 LCD to replace my 3 year Pioneer plasma.
It will mainly be used for Sky SD viewing with the odd bit of HD & Blue Ray thrown in.
Opinions good or bad gratefully received.

Kind regards......Ted

PS I have a buyer for my Pioneer which gives me excellent results...my reason fro selling.
bigger screen size.
more HDMI inputs.
PC input
want TV with no sepeate media box.

The W4000 series are great sets - you will find HD & BluRay greatly improved over the old Plasma - I've installed HD on two Pioneer Plasma's of that era, and HD was very disappointing on both of them. I've since 'gone out of my way' to try HD on Sony and Hitachi Plasma's of a similar vintage, they too were disappointing.

Having said that, you may be disappointed with SD on an LCD?, even a top one like the W4000. I would suggest you go and see one, and make sure to see it on SD.

Woops sorry Naill our posts just crossed.
I am afraid the 4500 is a bit too much of a stretch for me.

Niall, Having followed your link the 4500 is only around £200 more than the 4000 on Amazon.
I have never heard of http://www.1staudiovisual.co.uk before though ?
Is the 4500 worth the extra £200 ?

just use the red arrow to jump onto the others and click on the tech specs
